you need a program to rip the DVD into your hard drive, then you need to convert the video file into the media player format, then just put the converted file into your media player

Best way is to Rip the DVD into a file that is in Xvid or DivX format...it will only take up about 700mbs of space(1cd worth) and will play fine on your computer as long as you have those codecs installed.
Use a program like Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum.
You might also need AnyDVD to decrypt the protection on the fly as it's being ripped to another format...(runs in the background)
