If you do not wish to endure withdrawal symptoms, then you will need to taper yourself off, initially, at a rate of about 2 mg per week. The rule of thumb with long acting opiate agonist/antagonists such as Subutex is "the lower, the slower" meaning the lower the dose you get down to, the slower you will need to redue your dosage.

You included more information in the question the other three times you asked it this week, indicating that your doctor has been prescribing you 8mg per day but you have been taking 14, and now he wants to take you down to 6 mg. Your choices are to suffer withdrawal when you go from 14 to 6mg, or to be honest with your prescribing physician so he can work with you.

there is not a set thank you to decrease Subutex, as distinctive human beings cope in distinctive techniques. From what I even have considered reducing doses works extra useful while performed over an prolonged quantity of time, yet some human beings cope extremely nicely. As interior the respond above that's needed talk reducing your dose which includes your prescriber / keyworker as they'll understand you extra useful than absolutely everyone on right here. additionally, offering you have an information expert, share any issues that could impact your capacity to decrease which includes edge effects, very own issues - in the event that they don't understand they are able to't help you, and can assume you're waiting to decrease extra once you're actually not. finally do not assume too plenty too quickly, and if issues do not bypass as planned do not beat your self up, in case you have come this some distance, you could bypass all the way. reliable success, Mel.

Normally a gradual reduction, usually aroung 2mg at a time - normally at least a week or 2 at each dose reduction , or longer if the patient finds they are struggling. It can be done - i have seen several patients reduce and come off subutex successfully.

Good luck
