Yesterday i installed windows service pack 2 and after installing it my computer kept freezing up i guess because of the great amount of memory sp2 takes (my pc has SP1 has 2.00 GH and 128 MB RAM),so i uninstalled it and to be honest i really didn t see any update to my PC with SP2 exept better security, but i already have the 2006 version of anti-virus so i thought uninstalling it would be the right thing to do. Today i uninstalled the SP2 and my computer is running fine now,did i do the right thing or it is good to have SP2?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There's only one problem with running SP1...MS no longer supports SP1 so hackers will be able to get into your computer even with the anti virus installed...You really need to have SP2 installed so that you will continue to get MS Critical updates...
You should install more memory...at the very least 512 Ram memory stick.

It's very good to use Service Pack 2. There are much, much more than just security features in Service Pack 2.

I'm pretty confident that if you would use SP2 for a day or two, the 'slowness' will go away.

Your biggest problem is that 128MB isn't really suitable for XP in the first instance, with or without SP1 and SP2. Your computer will not get the full benefit of XP with a slow computer. You should try and increase your RAM.
