And how did my cat know , that I'm his owner. Can cats also love

all cats are different. i had lap cats cats that sat on my head some that like to only be with us when we were in bed. we had many cats that just wanted to be left alone. i have a cat now that sits on the ice box and look down on us. and like to sit on the table (even thought she knows not to) and when you walk by grab you and lick you.. cats love to be by them self's and then want to be with you.. i had a cat that only want to be with you when you were doing paper work or on the computer. and then she would sit on the paper or sit on the key board she love to sit on the mouse and then look at you like who me sitting on what and when you try to move her she try to bit you. cats dogs birds any kind of pet had there own way they own personality. you cat think that you are her mother. and she does some of the thing she does because of that.

Cats tend to be aloof which gives them the label of not liking to be around people. They love attention as much as the next animal. As a kitten, JJ may have felt you were like a surrogate mother. I have a cat that is attached to my hip. I sit down and she is right there on my lap. I also had another cat that was more protective. I like to think of them as individuals, with their own personalities. I believe cats love (albeit different from our perception and understanding of love) If you enjoy your relationship with your cat, it's fine.

I have a male and female cat, they are siblings. Duke, the male, is so loving he sleeps at my head all curled up on me, and when hes not there, he has to be touching me somewhere, my arm, my leg, his paw touching me somehow. its really cute, And I swear, even my vet noticed this, when I had him fixed, he says "Momma" I used to think I was just hearing things, but when hes hurt, or just needs some extra love, he says, "Momma" cats are so very affectionate, and they also love being on their own, my female, Dutchess, is that way. Only comes and sees me when She wants too. Just enjoy JJ. he does think of you as his Momma, and yes its called imprinting. Does JJ "huff" on you? Blows air through his nose at you when your close, like in your face, when he rubbing your cheek? Its something all cats do, its also a way they show love. Just wondering cuz my Duke does that also.

Yes, cats do 'love' their owners and they do recognize them and set them apart from everyone else. While JJ is a kitten, he will tend to look at you as his "mama." He may continue to do that for the rest of his life. Some cats who are very attached to their owners tend to look at them as "their human" (someone that belongs to them exclusively) and can be very protective as well as jealous. How do cats know you are the "special one" in their lives? Well, the same way you know that THIS kitty is the special kitty in your life. Seriously, its called "imprinting." If you are the one who regularly grooms, feeds, talks, carries, pets, etc the cat, you are imprinted in that cat's as "the love of his life."
I'm glad that JJ is a very affectionate cat. Take good care of him and he'll reward you with so much joy in your life.

r some pets and some breeds are more affectionate than others. My two cats prefer my company to my wife or my sons. They also "listen" to me when I tell them what to do. They aren't as responsive as a dog on commands but they do react to you if and when THEY want to.
Cats can be just as territorial and loving as dogs. Be happy you have such a wonderful animal and when company comes over, put JJ in your bedroom and close the door, that way he won't interfere. Congrats on having such a loyal pet!

I had 2 cats (brothers.) They were my husbands when we were dating. When they moved in to our house and we all lived together 1 got more attached to me. The other loved my husband more. They both new if they needed food, water, clean litter who to go to (me). 1 followed me everywhere I went. They came when were called like a dog. They ate cat food as well as some of what we had. One cat would sometime push my husband with his body so he would not sit next to me on the couch. Your cat loves you and is showing that he appreciates what good care you take of him.
