Teach them American games. No joke. Some Japanese exchange students learned to play games like tag, kick ball, frisbee, hide and seek and they loved it. They would stay up until like three in the morning playing those games outside in the courtyard. Also, see if you can organize field trips to interesting places in your city. If you don't have any cool museums or anything, take them to the mall. From my experience, the Japanese treat shopping like its an art form. You might also want to have a question and answer session between students from your school and the Japanese students. Have people ask questions back and forth about the different cultures. Usually, that goes over very well.

That's about all the advice I can give you. Good luck.

Keep in mind that a lot of the things you think of as mundane might be very different from what they are used to. It's nice to have special activities set up, but just normal course of the day stuff will be interesting to them.

Just things as simple as changing classes will be different from what their used to. Japanese kids usually stay all day in the same room while the teachers move around. A lot of schools don't have lunch rooms so going through the lunch line will be different. If there's a dance or basketball game take them to that. Other than that, just try to think of things you like doing (and could legally get away with at school) games, sports, band practice, etc..

So much of what we think of as the usual routine is really uniquely American. They are likely to think it's all neat. Just be freindly and welcoming and eveything should go fine.

You might reduce out the form of California from cardboard (it does now not have got to be a giant cutout). The cardboard might be like a popup guide, you'll assemble little items of looking department shops (matters ladies like), have additionally at the board, somewhat sand for the seaside and a few sort of blue fabric (paper) for the sea.Where ever you reside in California, you might upload extra matters (residences, mountains, the entire excellent locations to consult with for your the town at the cardboard too). First find out what they are interested in. Like what kind of sports and music they like. Then go from there.
