Not me. I've been a good parent an as such demand my child respect me. I think it a shame all those people she visits they can't even control little toddlers. My question is why have so many children if they can't even handle one? It's a shame a big shame on them...

I think the parents that are on Supernanny and Nanny 911 are lost otherwise they wouldn't be on that show. But to answer the question no I don't feel underestimated.

I agree that parents need to become more in control in their children's life. I don't believe a child should have the final say so when it comes to the decisions being made. I believe parents should enforce rules and back it up with some loving disclipline. Those parents on the nanny show really need some help! They obvousily don't know how to be a parent and is too late on trying to show them discipline. That's why its neccessary for the discipline to occur in the earlier stage of life when children are small. I don't know what I would do if my kid rebelled and gave me disrespect. I probably would have to go to jail that night lol.

No, I don't feel underestimated. I don't feel that she titles us /all/ lost (at least I don't think so), but there are very many who are.
I think the show is aimed at two groups of people. Other 'lost' families, and those of us who get an ego boost out of watching it.
Those families are probably desperate. Of the few shows I've watched, the kids are out of control and headed for Big Trouble, while the parents need a good kick in the rear to get them to smarten up.

The kids on these shows have been allowed to live in households without parameters for years. That kind of breakdown, disrespect and selfishness did not develop 24 hours before the tape started running. These parents are NOT PARENTING that is the problem. They have created these little darlings by not having rules, consequences and stability.Quite often the parents do not work together raising their children. It is obvious the kids rule the roost. It should never get like that. My parents had 8 children and I can tell you we had rules, consequences, chores and expectations. If you expect nothing that is what you get in return ,nothing.

sorry but i must disagree.I as well see so many parent that are lost all you have to do is watch Maury or look in the parents section here and see people searching for ideas on how to get their children to behave ,i see it out in public as well ,I'm not sure where you live but where i live i see so much all the time people grabbing there heads and saying i don't know what to do with this kid! i worked in child protective services and the place is so full of parents who don't know what to do ,America has a very high rate for children who have gone over the edge ,being bad ,killing, fighting their parents, drugs ,gangs and all sorts of things unmanageable when i grew up even ...so bless the Nanny's for helping and giving people the feeling of having the right to correct their children ,giving them direction, and making it OK to punish for the bad things and praise when they are good ,remember America thinks its all about bigger better more,a lot of kids get lost in the shuffle not all I'm not saying all parents don't know what they are doing but a lot of them are lost.
ok heres my point my friend got mad at me for this please read on,,, her daughter went outside shes 10 by the way in a see threw night gown at around 1:00 pm I looked at her as if she was mad for letting this child go out like that on a busy street.so i got up and told the girl to get back in the house my friend said oh screw it she wont listen and im not fighting her ,but she calls crying about how bad this kid is all the time, after that I stopped returning her calls she was mad at me saying I didnt have a right to make her kid come in the house and it was her daughter OK OK this is my point thanks for the sounding board some people just need help and thanks goodness for the nanny !!!!!!! but to answer you no i dont feel underestimated by this at all ....and some parents dont have a clue

i have no children (im 45)but i can tell you this much.I would have to say at least half of the north american kids between 10 and 18 are just plain rude to there parents.Where does it come from .I will tell you .NO boundaries set by the parents at an early age .So when i see nanny and super nanny calling parents lost i would have to agree .Lost their kids at an early age and let them have anything they want. Its called spoiled rotten.Good luck getting anything across to them after the age of 13.Just my humble opinion of an outsider looking in

Hit pigeons flutter, as they say... And no, I don't feel underestimated. She's right. Parents today are terrified to discipline and dont' seem to care what their kids are destroying, who they're injuring, etc. I would be HORRIFIED if my children acted the way the kids on that show did.

I have never thought about it that way. Usually when I watch a show like that, it makes me feel good about my parenting skills. Because my daughter does not act like that at all, so I must be doing something right.

I don't watch the show, because the one time I did, I had to question the nanny. What does she do when you have a toddler that WON'T sit in the naughty chair. Hold him down? I don't think so.
