Do they support you in it, or do you have a "Let's just not bring it up" family?

interesting question. some of my family knows, some don't. some just found out recently because my daughter will be having her coming of age ceremony very soon and she wanted to invite family, so we told them. my choice to be "in the broom closet" is because i am naturally a very private person. it's no one's business if i am pagan or christian or jewish or whatever. my relationship with the divine is my own business. my coworkers don't know. most of my friends do, but most of them are pagan. my kids choose to tell some of their friends. my son is in highschool and wears his pentacle necklace proudly.
the people who know who aren't pagan are supportive. my atheist best friend always tries to call me around the sabbats to wish me a happy "whatever it is that you're celebrating" lol
some are more supportive than i would have expected which is awesome!

My mother is Christian, and so is my biological family, and yes they know. I have always been an "out of the broom closet" witch.

At first my mother was very upset, and had all the typical "your going to hell" worries, but through converstation, she has realized that I am not a satan worshiping blood drinker, but a normal, honest, person, who honours the deities, respects the earth and her creatures, lives a clean life, and is raising my children to be honest, respectful people, she changed her opinion.

Some of my family don't talk to me, but that is alright, that is their choice, and I can only hope that love for me will win out, and they will want to know more about me.

As for that only fat kids become pagan? Obviously you have never been to a pagan gathering. When I became pagan I was 110 pounds, and never had any worries in the looks department. I am now a bit heavier, but I have also had 3 children, and am not 20 years old any more.

I know several people who have been in the modelling industry who are pagan.

Oh btw Stevie Nicks is pagan. Not fat by any standards.

Why would they care? Family should go beyond religion. Love is all that matters in the end. If a loss should occur in the family, I know that if I was ever so heartless to treat my child or sibling that way, I would live with regret for the rest of my life. Family should be open and accepting. Full of life. Life is to short on this earth.

Its, sadily, more of a dont ask dont tell sort of thing. I've tried to tell my family before but they kinda just forgot about it and said it was a phase that I was going through. My grandma thinks that it is evil. I dont agree and I live in the same house as her so it is hard for me.
I have to hide my altar.
Whenever I watch a movie having to do wiith witches, later i light an inscence or a candle and she says, "are you playing witch again?!"
she dosent even know what it is, I told her to wake me up this morning for the vernal equinox and she said ok.she is very ignorant when it comes to wicca and the craft. i've studied for almost two years and I understand it very well.
However I am a gay pagan still in the broom closet...

Most of the family knows, and the response is kinda lukewarm. Most of them just sort of avoid the topic. My sister-in-law asked me not to do anything in their house. That said, when my wife and I got married, several aunts and uncles were all over asking for the symbolism of what we were doing, etc. ::shrugs:: Overall, not particularly talked about, but pretty much a non-issue.

My husband's family has a just not bring it up policy. However, sometimes his brother in law tries to bring religion and politics and gets shot down by Lee's father.

My family knows, and it's not an issue. Most of them are various denominations of Christianity, but none of them have an issue with me being Pagan. We have some fun discussions, actually. =)

Telling my sister and mum that I am Wiccan wasn't any different than if you would announce to your family that you were Catholic or any of the other religions in the world. And like the other religions, they don't care what faith I am, because there isn't anything wrong in what I believe.

Well both me and my wife are Wiccans so it really isn't a problem in our house. Our daughters are learning our faith as well as going to Christian church with their grandmother. When they are old enough they can choose the faith they want to follow. At least they will be able to make an informed decision about their own faith.
