My sister is getting married on 5 de Mayo... VIVA!! *woohoo* LOL!! Anyway, I'm her Maid of Honor and I know that traditionally we give speeches, but I like to be different and I want to do something more symbolic and special for her. I want to sing her a song that expresses how much I love her, appreciate her for everything she's done for me, that I wish her much happiness, etc. I can't seem to find the perfect "sister" song so please help me out on this!! I already got a singing coach and the wedding is only a month and a half away!! *is nervous*

PS. I've done a couple of searches and I like Christina Aguilera "I Turn To You", Celine Dion "Because You Loved Me", and Lionel Richie "Three Times a Lady"... but I want MORE choices to pick from!!

THANKS A MIL!!! :)

Ok my bf just posted a dif song but I like this song better for the reason behind it. LOL Good luck and I hope you find a good song. BTW this song isn't too hard to sing.

Reba McEntire - My Sister Lyrics

Hey girl it's me i just called to tell you hi
Call me when you get this
Haven't talked lately so hard to find the time
Give the boys a big kiss
Tell them that I miss them
By the way I miss you too
I was thinking just today
About how we used to play
Barbie dolls and make-up
Tea parties dress up
I remember how we'd fight
We made up and laughed all night
Wish we were kids again
My sister my friend

Oh yeah before I forget I met someone
I think I really like him
I was wondering if I'm jumping the gun
By going out on a limb
And invite him home for Christmas
To meet the family

Seem like just yesterday
You brought home old what's his name
He had been drinking
What were you thinking
After dinner he passed out
We can laugh about it now
We've learned a lot since then
My sister my friend

Do you think you could come and see me sometime soon
We could just hang out like we used to
It's late and I should go
But I can' hang up the phone
Until I tell you
What I don't tell you enough
Even though at times it seemed
We were more like enemies
I'd do it all again
My sister my friend

Listen to Ben Harper -- Not fire, Not Ice.

I literally had tears in my eyes the first time I heard it. It's not exactly a "sister song", but it will definitely touch everyone there -- soooo romantic. and bonus -- not to challenging musically...dont wanna mess up on those scary high notes :)

I'm getting married May 25th. Your sister is lucky to have such a dedicated bridesmaid! I'm sure not matter what you pick, she'll love it!

Some say love by LeAnn Rimes is a GREAT song. It's personally one of my favorites :-)

LeAnn Rimes Lyrics

Some Say Love Lyrics

Some say love, It is a river,
That drowns the tender ring,
Some say love, It is a razor,
That leads your soul to bleed,
Some say love, It is a hunger,
And endless aching need,
I say love, It is a flower,
And you its only seen,

It's the heart, Afraid of breaking,
That never, Learns to dance,
It's the dream, Afraid of waking,
That never, Takes the chance,
It's the one, Who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to be,
And the soul, Afraid of dying,
That never, Learns to live,

And the night, Has been too lonely,
And the rode, Has been too long,
And you feel, That road is only,
For the lucky, And the strong,
Just remember, In the winter,
Far beneath, The bitter snow,
Lies a seed, That with the suns love,
In the spring, Becomes a rose

Three times a Lady is the most beautiful song ever.
I think your sister would love to have that song sung to her on her wedding day.

How about "The Wedding Song" by Paul Stookey(sp?).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wedding Song

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits, here, has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love, there is Love.

A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home
And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one.
As it was in the beginning is now and til the end
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again.
And there is Love, there is Love.

Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
And if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you've never seen before?
Oh there is Love, there is Love.

Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love, there is Love.
