I have been engaged to my fiance for almost a year, but we donot have the finances to file for a visa. Instead, i just go visit him every month.I would also like to know if anyone knows how to find personal financial loans for this sort of thing.

Next time you go, get married and file for conditional residence it cost about 300 and if you want I can do all the paperwork for free. After 2 years you are a full resident. After you file depending where you live it would take about 3 to 4 months to get a work permit. This way your together its not expensive and you can work in 3 months.Good luck.email me if you have more q

I'm not sure what can be done... In order to work in the US you have to have either citizenship or a visa...to my knowledge.
Years ago I was in a similar situation and the only way we could figure it out was to file for a fiance visa.... The relationship fell apart, but for me it was the best thing that could have happened to me....
I worked with a guy who was marrying a woman from the States and moving down there and he had to go through a fiance visa as well so he was working here and phoning her daily as well as going to visit from time to time.... It was hard on him but he was granted his visa last March I believe it was and he's since moved down there and they've gotten married....so it can be done but you need patience.

I wish you all the best of luck in this and congrats on your engagement, I hope all goes well for you. Perhaps you could talk to your bank about a loan or something, or get in touch with Customs or something, they should be able to offer some sort of assistance knowledge wise...thinking now Customs isn't likely the way to go... American Embassy or something like that....

What about a work visa? A fiance/finacee visa or a spousal visa needs to be paid for by the individuals involved, but work visas can be paid for by the employer. As a Canadian, in addition to the usual work visas, you may also be eligible for a TN visa.

Get married in Canada and then file for a US visa for you as a wife of an American.

It's worked for 2 Japanese women I know who've married Americans.

You can't live and work here.

If you can't afford a fiance visa then my guess is that you won't qualify for one even if you do find the money to file.
