When you believe, the terms of the New Covenant are fulfilled - and zap - God has the legal right (according to his own standards which He, utterly holy, adheres too strictly) and instantaneously recreates your spirit so you are fit, in spirit if not yet in soul and body - for a blessed eternity with Him.

It's your spirit that gets born again. Our souls are normally in control of things, as if people lived out of their spirits (innermost desires) the world would be hell. People are not normally aware of any distinction between spirit and soul.

After being born again, we have to be renewed in our mental thinking and understanding, and thus with the help of the Holy Spirit, available as a gift to christians, we become gradually more righteous in behaviour. Major sins and addictions do with some people disappear overnight.

You should believe .. it will be the most momentous day of your life, and set you on a path to eternal blessedness. There is great joy in knowing Jesus that makes life before seem like black and white photography. Its mainly a matter of believing Jesus is Saviour and died for our sins. If we don't think things are sins now, God will gradually make us aware of the sins, and provide full supernatural grace to overcome them.

You're taking the term "born again" waaaaaay to literally.
Born again means that when you've accepted Jesus Christ as your savior you are a new person. Not coming back out of your mother's womb in a new body, but you have been made pure by the blood of Jesus. The old sinful you shall be no more and you shall be born again, you will be "made new." Once you've become a Christian, been born again, you should "sin no more." That's the new you. Not that Christians are supposed to be perfect, but they ask God for forgiveness and repent.
You know, God said that we Christians would be ridiculed and scorned. We're not supposed to be normal and blend in. We're supposed to be different!!!
I'm a Jesus Freak!!!
Yahoooooooo......!!!!!!!

Yes.
You are a spirit living in a body.
The Holy Spirit recreates you (a spirit) when you ask Jesus to come into your heart (spirit) and save (recreate) you.
Adam messed up his spirit when he committed high treason.
Adam passed that messed up damned spirit to everybody else. It comes through the male, thats why Jesus could not have an earthly father.
Hope this helps.
Ditto.................

Nicodemus asked the very same question.

John 3

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

its true the mind is not what is changed. the mind can only hear, and be willing to accept what is heard.

it's the spirit that hungers for something more than physical and intellect that is "born again", just as the Bible states will happen. and though some attempt to explain it, only after it happens can it be better understood.

like one can only know better what its like to be married, after you're married.

Born again is a term used when addressing the spiritual rebirth of someone like yourself, that believes that there is nothing out there greater than yourself. Crackheads are normal, when you are set beside them. You see most of them, if they live long enough, come to realize that this is not for them, but you my friend, will probable never come to the realization that to be reborn is a beautiful thing.
Take care of yourself and God bless.

The Word of God has the power to work a psychic change in a person, regenerating a person's soul that is full of hate, violence, addictions, or consumed with any kind of sin. Aperson cannot change himself or save himself. That is the power offered in Christianity.

The term refers to how we live our lives spiritually, not physically. If you have comitted great crimes, then something occurs in your life of such magnitude that makes you think back and question why you even thought of committing them, then you would be born again into living your life with righteousness and undoing the wrongs you have caused.

Please, born again is such a sad escape and so confused. To shed your sins is only to deny and then begin finding more to deny. How they can proudly say they are born again, and, it is only one life is an ending that need not be. To truly be born again, to be given life again and again until you have the knowledge and wisdom to take the next step upward--that is a blessing.
