That's an impossible question to answer because everyone is teenage guy is different. I personally don't like church, but with school, every day is different. Sometimes I hate it other times, it's not so bad, but I'm still counting down the days until I am finally free of Lincoln-Way East.

Because they both represent authority-something most teenagers want to rebel against-to some degree or another. They have an image to uphold and for some that image is very important to them. Not liking school and church are the "in" thing (and will probably always be that way). You apparently have a better grasp on reality and whats important than most other kids. You can like school and church and still be cool-unless your definition of "cool" is cutting school and committing crimes. Don't change-you'll see the payoff later in life.

They don't want to be told what to do, especially morally, and they want to look cool to other people. Teenage boys aren't as strong emotionally as they pretend to be. They also are ignorant most of the time, and don't know what they are meant to do in life. That is a generalization, so I'm sorry for the teen boys who don't fit into that category. There are some that are mature and well balanced and they like school and church. It just depends on the kid.

Because teenage boys are usually immature and all they want to do is stay home and "explore themselves" and play video games.
Congrats on being a different kind of teenage boy- in the long run, you'll be better off then the lazy, anti-social ones.

There is more risk of abuse at school and at church. Have you watched the news in the last 3 or 4 years on what is happening in church? There are more perverts in church then on the streets!

I don't think that's quite a true statement. But most teenage boys have more energy then they can handle and they don't like sitting still - which is required in church and school. You sound more mature and settled.

I think it's a natural problem with authority that comes from all that testasterone. Plus, a lot of boys think they will be regaurded as "mama's boys" or even worse a "nice guy" if they take to much interest in what they're supposed to.
Congratulations on not falling into that trap. Keep up the virtuous behavior!

i used to hate church because sundays you are supposed to get up late and stuff and my parents woke me up at 5am or so to get ready so we could be at the church before 7am ggrrrrr. I didn't hate school. I hated some teachers because they were really mean but other than that school was fun.

Mostly for 2 reasons.
They both involve having to sit for very long periods of time, and
while sitting, you're supposed to be listening to people tell you what you should believe.
I guess you like them because you don't mind the long periods of inactivity, and like what you hear.
If schools actually engaged in education, fewer students (of both sexes and all ages) would hate them.
But they don't, so they do.

Because they don,t really understand the importance of either yet. Just try to encourage them in this direction. I remember being encourage by a girl younger than my self to sing with the congregation when I was that age. I am still at it.
