Trust me they don't even know! Love cannot be measured on a scale, but you can measure its intensity. Sometimes it can be strong, lukewarm or non-existent!

If someone says that, they may mean that they really love the other person but are not feeling the same love returned....like they are insecure about the relationship. Sometimes this line ifs also used during a break-up to deflect the real reason: ' It's not you, it's me '.
Let's face it, no one know what is in another persons heart. You have to show them how you feel with affection, kind words, touch, etc.....

he means that 1 your not putting enough into the relationship or 2 he is playing a stupid game like "i love you more" and you say "no i love you more". I'd go with number 1 though. in that case make him feel loved and do something spacial assure him you love him back and if you don't love him back then he has a dam* good point

Not sure what it means. When I was young I used to tell my mom before she died, that I loved her 'all the way to heaven.' Thats a lot of love, so yeah I suppose it could be measured in a sense.

In a way love can be measured. For example, someone who loves you to the limit of their ability will just about sacrifice anything for you. He/she puts yours needs ahead of their own interests. If you on the other hand will only do certain things for them, then your love is less towards that person, than theirs love is for you.

Means they don't know what love is.
"Love" is a feeling for someone else. Being "in love" means you want to try and show them how much love you have for them.

When I say that to my husband, I'm just being stupid. Why should I measure his OR my own love? It's not worth it.
When did "I love you" become "How much? I'm not sure you love me enough. "

It just for fun to keep it up and it always prove each other that they really love each other. They just try to see if they would say it.
