i have talked to her and we are sort of friends, but everytime i get the the courage to talk to her, she has a boyfriend and then i am stuck waiting for her to break up with him

Try saying hello to her first.
Then compliment her on something, like "those earrings look really good on you" or something like that.
Could be hair style or or something else but girls like to have guys notice that they have good fashion sense.
In fact you could tell her that you think that she has good fashion sense but don't elaborate on it or you will look foolish.
Compliment her and she will notice you but don't try to move on her too fast, just take it one step at a time.

Step 1.Get some balls and talk to her.
Step 2.Just be real and don't pretend your Rico Suave or something.
Repeat steps 1 & 2 until you feel you are in her friend bubble.
Now for Step 3. Take action and ask her to hang out.

Ok im pretty sure most humans have the ability to speak. That is the first step in getting a girl to know you are alive. Or you could do something realy interesting, and she could find out from gossip; of course gossip almost always sucks. Ok so talk to her first; say hey ...whats up, iv'e seen you around school and then complement her. It is realy simple.

First, make sure she is ALONE, talking to a girl for the first time in a group can sometimes be intimidating. First off, tell her that you like her. If she thinks that you are cute, or if she seems to like your personality, get her myspace url. talk on there. while at school, talk to her during linch if possible
