Well a cuple months ago i got a baby pit bull puppy. She is now about 4 months. I love her to death, however i am not able to see her everyday like i want. She is also not poty trained yet. And i am not able to work with her on that. She is staying with my father, and with his work schedule he is not able to be with her. She is recently staying out side, tied to a pole(WHICH I HATE). I think she needs more attention. An I think she is not that happy, even though she loves seeing me. PLEASE tell me what i should do in a sitchation like this?

She is not able to stay with me because, me and my mom are living on a main road, and she would probaly get hit. My dad got her for me so he could rub it in my mothers face, and so i would go over there more often.

I probably shouldn't answer this because I know you aren't going to like my response.

First of all, your dog is never going to be housebroken by living outside tied up. It's not fair to the dog and is only to cause you more problems down the road. I'm sure the dog is happy when he sees you because he is neglected so much of the the time.

Second, and this is the part that you aren't going to like. I think that if you love your dog as much as you say, and I honestly believe that you do, I think that the best and kindest thing you can do for he is to give her up to a pit bull rescue organization that will find her a new home and not put her to sleep.

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, and I'm sorry, but please think of the dog. I'm honestly not trying to be mean, rude or nasty to you.

I am curious as to why the dog can't live with you and why she has live tied up in your dad's back yard.

EIT TO ADD:

Thanks for answering my question :-)

My other suggestion is that you try to talk to your father and explain to him the disadvantages and risks of leaving the dog tied up outside. I'm adding a link to a website about how keeping dogs chained is cruel and how it can make them aggressive, possitive and territorial. A brief exerpt follows:

" Chaining is not only inhumane for dogs, but has taken a severe toll on this nation’s children as well. In the period from October 2003 through March 2007, there were at least 116 children killed or seriously injured by chained dogs across the country. Chained dogs, unsocialized with humans, can become very territorial of their tiny space, and any two year old who wanders into this space can be attacked and killed before adults can intervene.."

Please look at the websites I've added. You might even consider printing a copy of of both and showing them to your father. . It breaks my heart knowing that the dog is not being sociclaized properly.

Good luck :-)

Well I would have to agree with the other posters, if no one has the time to even potty train a 4 month old puppy and it is tied up to a pole outside, as hard as it may be for you it is time to find your puppy a new home that will be able to give the training and attention that any dog requires.

The fact that she is tied to a pole breaks my heart. I think if you dont have the time and dedication to train and give her the attention that she needs and deserves then you should start looking for a family that can give her what she needs and to train her right. It sucks giving away a dog but would you rather have a miserable dog that is stuck to a pole all day or with a family that makes it happy. Sorry that situation is never a good one. Dogs are a big responsibility. They are like children. It looks like your not ready yet.

You need to find her a better home. You can put ads in the paper or online. When adopting her out be sure to interview people to make sure they don't want to use her in dog fights. The last resort would be a shelter but make sure it's a no kill shelter because pit bulls are often euthanized immediately. Most people think they are aggressive and therefor not adoptable.

First you should make sure her vaccines are up to date, get her spayed, because there are so many unwanted pits in the shelters, then try and find a friend who can take her in! If you cant find a friend try local rescue groups and see if they will take her in.. Please don't bring her to an animal shelter as most likely she will be put to sleep.... : ( But if you need resources of rescue groups, the animal shelters will know who is best and where they are located! Good luck and hopefully you will be able to put her in a better situation, because having her tied up to a pole is dangerous! she can kill herself .....

PLEASE give the dog to someone who can care for it. It is considered abuse to keep a dog tied up like that! She is way to young for what you are doing to her and will only turn mean. She needs not only love but training,to see a vet, to be looked after properly, you can't just get a puppy and tie it to a pole and go off and leave it!!! How would you like someone to that to you?

Why did you get a dog, if you didn't have the time for it.

I'd suggest finding a new home for this puppy, where she will be an indoor dog, receive proper training & housebreaking.

No training, & tied outdoors, is no way for a dog to live. Especially not a puppy.

This is going to be hard, but I really think you need to find your puppy a new home where she can get the attention she needs. It is not fair to her to keep her like this.

When you are older and have the time, money and space for a dog then you can get one.

Hi
Move in with your father to train the dog or move the dog to your home the best thing to do. or take the dog with you to your mom's and then to your dad's and use a crate to start training her.

why in the world would you get a dog if you apparently don't even have time to see the poor thing? this breaks my heart. try to find her a new home with people who can actually give her the attention she needs.
