the other day in english class, we wrote about an experience that changed our lives. the girl i am talking about says that she was at a church camp and was praying at the chapel when she felt a "warm and comfortable sensation sweep over her and heard a voice tell her to spread the love of god" she isn't retarded or anything like that, but it justs seems sort of crazy. i'm not really religious or anything, but i don't know if i should be scared or what to do. i kind of like the girl, but she is way too hot for me so i don't want to ruin her life goals by not having alot of the same beliefs as her, but at the same time i don't want to be a different person from who i really am. so i pretty much need to know if i should stay away or whatever. i can't help but feel that she might be a little crazy hearing voices and all, but at the same time i don't want to crush her spirit and everything she believes in just because i don't believe in anything. is it posible she could be crazy?

when she said, "heard a voice" i think that its safe to say that she didnt mean audibly. because God speaks to one's heart so it doesnt have to be audible.
when you quietly think inside yourself perhaps a song frequently running through your head.. or remembering whatever you heard on tv or someone say.
its very much the same thing that she experienced. it comes from what one has already heard a person already say.. and later brought back to her in a fresh new way from when she first heard it said.
she could likely have said that it came from God because of the content.
unless you'd be willing to respect what she believes and how she speaks about her experiences with God.. perhaps you should just stay friends or classmates.

Well – there are two possibilities – she is touched by God or touched in the head. If you don’t believe in God and do not believe one can hear the voice of God, Holy Spirit, Jesus, Mary, Angels or any other forms of psychic ability that are out there, than you would probably conclude she is touched in the head.
Seriously though – what is wrong with her being told she should spread the love of God? Usually someone is not declared insane or schizophrenic unless the voice is prompting you to hurt yourself or others, increase paranoia or other negative things.
Spreading the Love of God if you believe in God is an amazing and awesomely positive thing because it helps spread love, positive thoughts and attitudes, compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
It doesn’t really sound like you are close to this girl other than in class at school, so what is so threatening about her believing as she does anyway?

My name is cody fries and ima christian too. I think you should tell her what you're thinking and let her make the descision. And no she is NOT crazy. there is actually a verse in the Bible that says "Your young men shall prophesi and your old men shall dream dreams." If i were you i would be scared. Not because of this girl but because if you dont love and know God then you go to Hell when he comes. I know its sometimes hard to believe but just read the Bible Prophesies and you'll realize that a lot of that stuff has already com true like the temple being torn down and death valley blooming.

until you understand that there is a GOD in heaven, and that God jesus and angels do anwers prayers, at least sometimes, then you dont have a right to call anyone crazy.
however, if you have ever heard of Nick begich, and read his books you would also know that voices can be made by a technology called the voice of god. I think he even said soda machines have a form of adverstisement that can only be heard in proximity to the machine.
But remember Men have talked to God and God has talked back, but please inform her that Not all voices are from God and there are several ways to create similitudes of equal likeness. it probably wasnt God, but no one can no for sure until she finds out who the source actually was.

Hallucinations can be visual, auditory, have the feeling of being touched, etc., and are not uncommon, especially in gullible people.
Personally I would stay away from her no matter how "hot" she is. The inability to discriminate a hallucinatory experience from reality is a symptom of psychopathy, and no one can make your life more miserable than a person with psychological problems.

i heard God speak to me too. I was in debt and in trouble financially and I was about to declare bancruptcy when God's voice said clearly to me "trust me. I'll take care of it" A week later I recieved a cheque in the mail for a union grievance that was 15 years old and it had enough to pay all my debts. God DOES actually talk to people, even today!

It's called 'mass hysteria'. Not really insane, at least not more so than any other religious person. I'd suggest staying away, people like that creep me out.
But if you really like her, try to keep religion out of the equation and get to know her.

she is not crazy. she is experiencing something alot of people are experiencing. that is good he is talking to her. that is good for their relationship. i mean how would you like if your god was talking to you? i love it when he talks to me. it gives me peace.
