The hiccups is caused by an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm muscle....there's not really anything you can do besides trying to controll your breathing.

hiccups are caused by spasms when you irritate your um, whatsitcalled muscle in your esophagous. The cure is simple- Drink a cup of very hot water. It relaxes the um whatsitcalled muscle and stops the spasms instantly. Good luck!

hiccups are caused by the diaphragm contracting. when you dont breath properly this can cause your diaphragm to get outta whack. about stopping it.... this is going to sound strange but, drink something upside down. get a gulp of water in your mouth and lean over an swallow that baby. i dunno why that works but it works for me

your diaphram misses a "beat" basically.
you take a deep breath - hold it
suck it a little more air - hold it
breathe out of your month only slowly with lips barley open
Works everytime.
