The question was posed that way to use alliteration to illustrate a point... The point is that either he was who he claimed to be or not, with 2 options provided as to why he may not be who he said he was, one of them being incorrect factual information, one being a distortion of reality due to mental illness.

Therefore, #1, 2, and 3 would fall under the larger category of "Liar" as the information would be non-factual.

# 4 would be under lunatic... Sincerely thinking that you are God when you are not would not be a ringing endorsement of one's mental health status...

Well I believe that he existed. I'm sure that he said some of the things that he is supposed to have said.
I think that he was just a very charismatic person and someone else along the was crazy.

If you are asking christians your answer will and should be that he was Lord.....the rest is probably offensive to them.

I personally feel that #1 or #2 is most probable due to the evidence I have studied.

My pick isn't among your choices. Jesus honestly believed in the religion he taught. His followers who wrote down his teachings did not do so accurately. Since his death, people have altered Christianity so much that Jesus would not recognize it.

He was never divine, and never thought he was.

jesus was real no doubt but was just a psycho megalomaniac that had the feeling that he had to be better than everyone else. if you ask me most of the problems that we have today were caused by religious conflict (the war in iraq, terrorism, slavery, genocide/holocaust)

oh and i am not sorry if i crushed your spirit and tore apart everything you believed in and if i did, just remember that all you need to believe in is yourself and you are just too lazy to do that so you put all of your trust in supernatural beings that DON'T EXIST!!

By the norms of our times, he was a lunatic. But by the norms of his times, he was divine.
