I lightly fry onions and garlic til soft then add some chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper then add the cous cous and boiling water then let it swell.

Or a good idea could be to use a cup'a'soup dried mixture in with the cous cous before you put the boiling water in.

I'm going to try roasting some veg when I remember to, with some mediteranian herbs and chopping quite small and adding that to it.

:)

I discovered this watching Nigella, but you coud try a pomegranate. Gently peel the seeds from the pomegranate and mix it with the cous cous. It's a bit messy, as the pomegranate juice can stain - but it's a nice alternative to the usual. It's also nice to eat with Quinoa. (Aztec version of cous cous, and it has a nutty flavour!)

Take some chicken curry (fresh or frozen), some rice (basmati for choice) and a large naan bread.

Cook the curry and rice as directed, heat the naan under a hot grill, throw that crap cous cous in the garbage and eat a proper meal.

O! That's my favourite. I buy feta cheese in marinade (on olive oil) with olives and herbs (or no olives), and some cherry tomatoes (in halves). Shake the marinade well before adding it to cous cous, so that all spices and herbs are evenly distributed. Heaven!

This is a really quick meal for my toddler son who loves it. Boil kettle of water, whilst that is doing put couscous, a handful of frozen peas, small frozen cooked prawns, frozen sweetcorn, in a bowl, crumble a stock cube over or add a dash of dried dill and a knob of butter. Cover with boiling water. Stir. Wait for it all to cook/soften. Voila.

You can put anything in it really, you may have to pop in the microwave for a min if you have a lot of frozen ingredients.

I also do this with rice, lobbing everything in to the pan as the rice starts to get tender.

I add a bit of Paul Newman's Balsamic vinegrette to whole wheat couscous, it's so good. On plain couscous, try a bit of parmesan cheese grated over it.

Near East makes a Garlic and Olive oil flavored couscous, delicious and nothing needs to be added.

curry powder is awsome, my daughters favorite. Also cook it in veggie stock (we are vegetarian) or another stock. Its great with diced veggies, such as green pepper, onion, garlic, zuchini, squash, brocolli, or your favorite veg. Before going veggie, we liked it with tuna or shrimp. Its great stuffed into green pepper shells, then baked with a sauce, such as spagetti or mushroom sauce. Its also great for stuffing zuchini or tomatoes, or eggplant. Sadly, I am now allergic to wheat, and can no longer eat it. I use quinoa instead, but miss the real deal.

Cooking it in chicken broth instead of water; using Mrs. Dash spice mixes, like the original or the lemon pepper blend.
