A class of 5-6 yr olds are having a tug-of-war as a part of an event. What can we use? Is the traditional rope appropriate? What are the other options? And if you give an option please tell me where can i get it from ? How long should it be, if there are 9 children on each side ? Please answer as soon as possible !!!!

So what kind of a rope should I use and where is it available? This is really my first time.

I would use a bed sheet (king size) two tied together if need be. Rope may hurt their hands, the bed sheets will be soft and if it slips it won't cause little burned palms.

I wouldn't use a rope or you will have a classful of rope burned plams. Instead, use a sheet or two or even three tied tightly together.
