You should let him down easy but say that you like him as a friend and explain to him why you can't be with him (Or don't want to). Then just say every now and agian you could go eat some dinner or go bowling with some FRIENDS and ONLY WITH FRIENDS!
But its up to you on the decision you make its all on you girl!

Since u c him more as a friend, i think continuing to hang out with him would not be such a bad thing. after all, it would be making ur friendship stronger and think about it, if u stop hanging out, u mite lose him as a friend (remember that u do have fun with him). In terms of starting a relationship with him, if you don't like or love him in that way, don't push yourself into it =) if the feelings develop later then u can go for it, but if not, just continue being friends!

I would say stop using him. You know you don't like him for the reasons that you gave. Yeah you might be having fun, who doesn't like freebies at times. The two of you are going in different directions though. If you want him for "just" a friend, then foot the bill sometimes or split it. Wouldn't you do that with your girlfriends? I would personally leave it alone. Would you want someone to hang around you that you liked but he didn't like you the same and you bought him a lot of stuff but he didn't really return the favor???????? Think.

It sounds like you guys are compatible in a friendly way and the more you entertain his expenses the harder it will be for him to understand no and the harder it will be for you to realize that when the friendship stops so will all the good deeds. He's already put out there how he feels about you and seeing that he's an older male he wants companionship, if you cant offer him that you need to end the friendship cause he's recieving mixed signals. He believes you all are involved in a courtship!!!

You need to talk to him,be honest with him,, open your heart, cause is not good he is feeding hope, thinking you are going to start a relationship later. Tell him, you love to go out with him, but just as a friend, that do not wait more of you, than just a good friend

Start paying half of the expense when you go out with him. Friends split it. If you don't want to do that, then you are using him for entertainment and wasting his time.

If you love him keep going out with him. But just keep him as a friend if you don't. Tell him how you really feel. He seems like a nice guy. He will understand.

If he pays for everything, it's not just as friends. He sees it as "dates" you guys are going on. My friends and I split the bill when we go out. Men don't spend time and/or money on women they are not either sleeping with or trying to sleep with. My advice? Stop leading him on.

Stick with your values. Don't compromise, if you don't have values you don't have anything. Besides he's not going to quit and it's just going to get worse.

I don't see nothing wrong with you going out with him if you are not misleading him in any way! As long as he knows where you stand you are doing nothing wrong.
