education is best to impove on the way we do things. my clients' pets are sufferning. There getting arthrist early, there diets are the reasoning behind it. We don't sell dog food, so i can't say hey buy this or that.

Someone suggested charts on things, but with 12 hour days i don't find time for them, manufactures send out dental charts on dental deseases.

What can I do in my profession to help my clients help there pets?

I'm lost here and over come with frustration on over-weight pets, neglected and other situations. Any ideas i can do more then just at the office to change things on a greater scale?

It is hard to get people to stand still long enough to be able to actually teach anything. we are such a busy and multi-tasking society. I think a good tool for education is still the printed word.
Print flyers about aspects of pet nutrition and exercise, with several options to fit different lifestyles. Stress the LONGEVETY difference of caring for the pet properly (nobody wants their pet to die prematurely) and the title may be ; Help Your Pet Live Longer' Just display these on your desk and invite to 'take one'..or hand them out as clients come or go..It will seem hospitable.
Put the flyers on colorful paper. yes, they will get tucked into the purse, and forgotten for a while, but the colorful paper will always remind them of what it is, and not to be tossed..They will eventually read it, while as a passenger in a car, or doing their 'nature's call'..If there are drawn illustrations, that is also an attention getter..People love pictures..everyone does, since childhood..
