Lenny Mclean wasnt a good boxer but was a killer as a streetfighter, and he possessed a killer punch,
No real answer only Boxer can defend themselves by avoiding punches but not headbutts, also boxer are usually very fit which is a strength but not a good question buddy

Apparently, a boxer's ungloved fist is classed as a dangerous weapon. With that in mind, that may be whay Ricky Hatton chose not to lash out when he was mugged in Shanghai last Summer. The Boxing Monthly included this in their end of year review, under the title: "Where was the counter hook to the body?" The attackers made off with the Hitman's Rolex.
Anyway, I imagine many boxers would make good streetfighters. Just look at Mr. Tyson. It seemed he was nearly always getting into scrapes. They'd do well in a stand up fight, but what against A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guy, or a Submissions expert? All UFC fights start with the combabtants standing up, but around 85-90% end on the ground. With this in mind, unless a boxer/ striker is a expert in submissions or some sort of grappling, there's every chance a grappler would shoot for a takedown as soon as possible, and most likely clanmp on an armlock until the boxer submits.

Boxing is a sport, where your in a ring with an opponent and a ref. A street fight is a fight between 2 or more individuals where there are no rules. Most street fighters don't know how to fight. Boxers should know tis, as they are taught to not be fighting anywhere except in the ring. Street fighters with experience may know how to somewhat block/defend, but not the way a MMA fighter or a boxer would. You never see a street fighter slipping from punches, or bobbing and weaving, you see the typical leaning back and coming back in. When they are striking you barely see uppercuts or jabs. Most of the time it's a wild hooks. Most street fights end in knockouts because they end up face to face and put so much power into each shot without even knowing, that one eventually gets the lucky shot and knocks the other out. I can guarantee if you put a boxer or a MMArtist in a 1 on 1 with a street fighter, you'd see a big difference.

Boxers will know how to defend themselves in case of an attack, but they won't be considered "good streetfighters".
Whether it be english, french or taï boxing, there are a whole set of rules to obey, when you're in the boxing ring.
In english boxing, for example, all you learn to use are your hands and your knuckles. You can't use your elbows, your legs, your knees, your feet, your head, and the list goes on.
Also, they teach you from the start what areas you aren't allowed to hit: crotch, eyes, neck, some of the most sensitive areas of the body, where a normal streetfighter would gladly punch a good one.
The guidelines are very strict; this is why many people don't like to refer to boxing classes as "self-defense" classes.
As said above, a wrestler would have a better chance surviving a streetfight, than any other boxer.

Winky Wright (who fights Hopkins on 7/21) said street fighting (before he started to box) made him a better boxer and boxing has made him a better street fighter, so dont mess with him on the streets.

Jack Dempsey

Years ago, Dempsey (being long retired and old) was getting out of a taxi cab in New York going to a commercial shoot when he was almost a victim of a mugging be two younger men. Dempsey knocked both of them down and urged both of them to get up (they both refused to get up and instead waited for the police to show up and arrest them. Source: ESPN Sportscentury
Any person who is a well conditioned athlete is going to have an advantage fighting. Boxers are not only well conditioned, but also well schooled in fighting. I dont know if they are the best streetfighters but they would certainly have advantages over a normal person.

There is no such thing as a "streetfight", not like you're talking about. Street fights are generally won by the person who is less drunk. Any other kind of street violence involves guns and/or knives. Either one is lethal, no matter what kind of training the unarmed person has. Don't believe what you see on TV. Confronted with a lethal weapon a 4th Dan Black Belt will generally give up his wallet. It just isn't worth the risk, if it can be avoided. Best advice? Walk in groups and stick to well-lighted areas. Leave the street-fighting to Sonny Chiba. He was the man!

Some boxers start out as street fighters and are brought to the gym to put their talent to good use. Not all of them start out as street fighters, though. Some of them used boxing as a hobby or for rehabilitation. Most boxers start out as bad boys who need something to hit. For instance, Erik Morales used to do street fighting against their village bullys or something like that.
