The heart is a strange guide. It can lead you to absolute pleasure and just as quickly to undying pain. Unfortunately it is beating within the chest of the most insecure creature on the planet. Words are easy, and now days used more often without thought or truth behind them. I cannot or will not say that this is a gender issue, because I have seen it happen on both sides. But it must be understood that the basic reason for most forms of cheating is that something is missing from the relationship that is sought by one or the other. Communication is the key in that regard, and modesty, shyness, or an inability to express ones need openly to the other is usually the cause of lies, cheating and a plethora of other ilks. This is not meant to be an excuse only an explanation. At any rate for further reference you may want to make sure feelings, needs, and aspirations are completely in the open on both sides. I'm not going to say this will cure anything, but it will at least give you a good foundation.

well sometimes they think that they will get away with it. I may not be that they do not love you but that the needs are not being meet or that they can have there cake and eat it too with out getting caught. Cheating is not always sexual, it can be mentally as well so when I said needs not being meet could be in many ways.

I don't get it either. One of my close guy friends was cheated on my the girl he loved. Now she says that she still loves him and wants to be friends. But he doesn't want to because it still hurts him eventhough it's been about two months.

I am glad that you don't get it. There are many people out there that like to play with other peoples emotions just to make themselves feel something. Since you don't get it, you won't be one of those people.....thank you. There is really nothing to get since those people will get what's coming to them eventually. I wouldn't want it, would you?

Guys are usually jerks because they don't learn as quick as girls.... Boys and girls have about a ten years difference in learning so they think its ok to go out hook up with a girl and tell her he loves her and the next day he'll totally ignore her... they think its ok... don't even put up with it

If I were you i'd go up to him and say absolutely nothing and slap him on the face!!

some guys are just assholes... but sometimes cheating happens during certain situation with temptation... we're all humans u know... its not always black and white there is always that shade of gray...

but also... it was their choice. So they are to blame.
