How many people out there ask to see their boyfriend/girlfriends current credit report once the relationship goes from just dating to something more serious? Is this a pretty reasonable and acceptable request now-a-days from couples?

If you are contemplating marriage, contemplating living together, or contemplating making a major purchase together then yes it would be acceptable.

Otherwise, it's not really (general) your business.

I understand cause you are worried about the future and how his credit will affect you and the life you will have together, but I think if your bf is that type of person then go for it. I would not though if it was me.

Do they even have to know you're wanting this?

Just bust open their account and see, haha

If you are thinking of marriage, it's really just a business partnership.

You DO want to know if your partner won't embezzle your money, right?

I don't know, would you accept your b/f asking for your credit history? I don't think so.

My b/f knows nothing about my credit history, I know all of his, but because he tells me about it, not like I forced him too, and it is actually good to know about it, for future references.

I would only ask if I was planning on moving in together and helping eachother pay bills. other than that why would you need to see it.

yes I would think that would be a very reasonable request, Smart even, although i bet one or the other would be mad,

I wish I had done that with my second wife, she had tons of bills and when you marry if it is a community property state, you end up with her debt
