My Cocker Spaniel of about 5 years has been having trouble standing up and sometimes walking. What's Happening? Old age? Should I contact a vet?
Sorry I don't know exactly how this works.

My cocker spaniel is about 9 years old, standing very well and walks better than I do. Four legs is better than two.

You should contact a vet immediately. Your puppy is in serious danger. Keep him comfortable and give him tender loving care, until you get your vet's response.

my clients buy more arthritis medications then anything.

Here is the best thing, you need condroitin, glycocomine together

here are a few things that have these in it, together it takes cure of infamlation swelling and helps REBUILD BONE and muscles.

glyco-flex since there young start with stage 1
cosequin regular since there young
duralactin (it has microlactin not controtin or glyocosmin but work the same only one like it)

all are non perscription and work better and won't cost you an arm and leg

If it's only 5, that's WAY to early to start having "old" age hip and leg problems. Get it to a vet right away!!!

Could be an ear infection. Lift it's ear and smell. Nasty smell good strong antibiotics are only available at your vets. You would go to your doctor if you couldn't stand or walk straight wouldn't you?
