Bareknuckle (streetfighting) fighting is the oldest form of sport/defence ever, the average bareknucke fight lasts 1 and half minutes, The winner wims when his opponent gives up or has enough, it happens every days in every town in the world by both sexes,
Boxing is the legal version of bareknuckle with added rules, fights last 36 mins of fighting, there has to be judges who can be corrupt and giving the wrong decision

bare knuckle is the original style of boxing whenver it surfaces in history- Anceint Egypt, greece, britain and then the colonization of America.
Actually whenever boxing is made into a sport, it starts out looking a lot like the UFC does. In other words lots of wrestling and 'anything goes'.
Early promoters realise crowds want to see more striking so gradually the fights get stood up more and get little rests, especially after knockdowns so they could keep going longer.
This is how 'rounds' started.
Eventually there is no more wrestling at all and the sport became pure punching. Once promoters start making money out of fighters they protected them more, to keep them fighting longer, so gloves came into play.
Even the anceint egyptians developed gloves for their boxers for example.
generally any time in history this is happening-the 'bare knuckle style' is in its purest form, just after all the wrestling has been taken out and just before gloves come in of course.
As a style it is more like a medieval weapons duel. That is the fighters throw less punches to protect the hands, picking their shots when they see openinings. There is a lot more parrying with the hands, like you see old time boxers like jack johnson doing, and when they get close they tend to grapple upright. In other words a lot of fighting in the clinch.
The old time bareknucklle guys would be about the best boxers to throw in with todays UFC fighters since they would be able to handle a lot of the grappling already and would hit a great deal harder.

Bare-knuckle fighting does not use boxing gloves and there are a few less rules in bare-knuckle fights. I don't believe this is legal anymore, but if you go to some of the very low class bars you might be able to watch one, but be careful you could easily become one of the opponents.
