Ok, well i recently dyed my hair brown & very stupidly put blonde streaks in it, which over time, turned my hair ginger! I am a natural ash blonde & whenever i dye my hair brown, the clour seems to fade very very quickly. Its probably a really stupid question, but i've heard that bleach lasts longer on your hair. Can u bleach your hair brown??!!!!

Bleach will never make your hair darker only lighter, and can be very drying on your hair causing breakage and split ends, If you are going darker, there is definitely no reason to bleach, that will only cause unnecessary damage to your hair.
If you want the brown to last longer there are some things you can do.
1 - Don't buy a box kit to dye your hair, you will not know what the base color of the dye is and you won't know what strength the peroxide is, which, if it isn't stong enough for your hair will cause fading.
2 - Buy your dye from a Beauity Supply store (like Sally Beauty Supply). Choose your color, if you are going a darker shade of brown use a 10 volume developer, if you are going to a lighter brown I suggest a 20 or 30 volume developer. If your hair is to your shoulders you will need at least 4oz. of dye and at least 4oz. to 8oz. of developer depending on the brand.
3 - At Sally Beauty Supply they carry a hair color additive that helps the hair color to grab better on resistant hair, it is called Gray Magic.. Gray hair tends to be harder to color over so if your hair tends to be stubborn gey a small tube of this and add it to your hair color, it will help it to last longer.
4 - You can purchase a shampoo formulated specially for dyed brown hair, I reccomend one that is a "slow color deposting shampoo" it will deposit and replace color that has faded keeping your hair colro fresh longer.
As far as bleach lasting longer on your hair, that is because it removes the color from your hair, it doesn't actually "last" it just chemically alters the color of your hair like when you spill bleach on black pants.. it removes the color.
I hope that will help, if you have any other questions feel free to email me!

no you cant bleach it brown but you can get it striped and redye it... this way the hair is completely clean of other colors when you start....
when you pick out a color try to get one that is about two shades darker than you want it will end up being the color you want!
make sure you check on the box that it says permanent if it only says semi permanent or gloss it wont last very long and you will be disappointed again!
good luck
peace out bunnie!!

You could bleach it and then put a colour on it. If you dye blonde hair brown without stripping the colour first by bleaching, it can go a bit greeny/khaki in colour - is that what's happened to you?

You can only bleach hair lighter. If you bleached your hair and then put brown in.. it would fade much faster. So with a darker brown, it'll fade slower.
And bleaching doesn't always kill your hair. Bleaching softened my hair a lot.

Yes, you can bleach brown. Bleaching removes all color permanently. Coloring deposits color which can wash out our change color over time. Especially if you swim a lot in chlorinated pools. If you don't have the money to have it professionally done, there is usually an 800# on the back of the color/bleach box. Call them for advice on their product.

purple hair is referred to as a genetic mutation, so mom and father of any shade hair ought to offer a baby with purple hair. perhaps it works the comparable way, yet i'm no longer completely specific i'm afraid.

No, bleach strips your hair of any color at all....
So I'm sorry, but you can't.... What brand of color is your stylist using? Maybe it's time to try something new??
