Bleu cheese has a strong flavor and is a bit tangy. Its good especially if you get a good quality bleu cheese such as Gorgonzola or Stilton. I usually look for a piece that is equally white and blue rather than overtaken by the blue. I usually eat it in salads especially with honey mustard dressing. It is also great crumbled on steaks. As a snack, I eat slivers of the cheese on crackers and drizzled with honey. It sounds odd, but I read about it somewhere and tried it and it's awesome! You should at least try it. I make a habit of trying something at least once. If you don't like it, you don't like it but you might be surprised.

Blue cheese IS sort of funky. It's different. It's strong! It has a very distinctive flavour. It's very good - but it is not for everyone, nor is it a cheese that can stand alone (i.e. - eat it with something.)
I enjoy blue cheese with a slightly sweet wine and light crackers with fruits.
Good luck and enjoy.

It has a tangy flavor, almost like a buttermilk/cheese combo to me. It is really good with hot wings - helps calm down the heat from the sauce.
It is also really good in salads; take Romaine lettuce, candied pecans, sliced Red Delicious apples, and blue cheese crumbles, mix with balsalmic vinegar and it is a tasty salad.

Mold... it tastes like mold! The only way I like it is mixed in so the flavor comes across more mild. People always tell me its an acquired taste, and you usually like it more the older you get. I guess at 20, I'm not quite ready for it. The one thing I can't get enough of is blue-cheese stuffed olives! Mmm... if you pop the pimento out of a green olive and stick a generous amount of blue cheese inside, they are delicious! My sister likes them in her martinis, but I haven't tried that. Anyway, good luck. Hope your ready for it!

if you like tangy tastes, you should try it. i absolutely love it - and if my caps lock wasn't broken i would be expressing it more, lol
i like to use the crumbles on a salad, or a steak, or even a sandwich, but i like blue cheese salad dressing the best - a good one to try is t. marzetti's chunky blue cheese, it's one of those in a jar in the produce section, it has a creamy consistency like ranch but with the crumbles in it too

I don't care for it. It looks funky because it is! The blue is mold.
