i'm uncertain that i might call any faith (previous or cutting-edge), violent, much less the "maximum violent" faith. right this is my reasoning. First, people are violent. it incredibly is genuine that they have got some motivation in the back of that violence (and that is not any longer something better than pissed off anger -- some thing commuters call "highway rage"), yet that motivation is seldom, if ever, non secular teachings. what's in the back of it, extremely issues like the inquisition, the crusades, invasions, murders, killing, etc, are people -- those with their very very own nefarious plans for administration, ability, conquest, being called the final. in case you learn the _teachings_ of the religion at their center point (it incredibly is, no longer from people who pontificate the religion, yet going to the supplies that are many times cutting-edge in antiquity, and in case you could translate them accurately, you will locate that peace is on the coronary heart of the religion, no longer violence or conflict. Any violence and conflict discovered interior the classic texts are historic documents that incredibly are not area of the middle teachings of the religions in contact. And, in case you pass back some distance sufficient, you extremely have not got documents which would be seen precise (Genesis, discovered interior the Bible, working example). Even the Buddhists have their violent sects, only as Islam, Christianity, and Judaism have violent sects. So, my reaction is that folk are violent, no longer faith, and that folk who're inspired by ability of a few non secular chief are perchance the main violent of all because of the fact one has to question the justifications of that chief (extra: and the followers do no longer question).

Encyclopedia sites tend to be less bias and just produce the facts. Encyclopedia.com is a good one, or try Encarta online. They will just tell you history and application of each individual practice without saying which is right or wrong.

I am a Christian, but will answer your question as non-biased as possible.

I think a good place to start is wikipedia. It gives a good overview of most religions, it is intended to be un-biased, and has pretty good links and references to get you started.
