You're hurting right now.....totally understandable.
But somewhere along the line...you need to let it go. There is an afterlife.....
Heaven with Christ...
Hell without Him....
You get to choose in this life while you're still alive.

I had my cat from six weeks to nineteen years. Other than my parents and and a couple of old friends and lovers, it was the longest unbroken relationship I've had, having lived all over the world and having taken him with me. He was unlike any cat I've owned or known and was a great pal that I miss terribly. A year and half later I still mistake noises for him and think I feel him jumping up on the bed. My parents say the same about their last cat whom they had 11 years that died a few years ago. Both of them still tear up when they think about their cat.
My pal is gone and so is yours. Even if we'd cloned them, they are as much their experiences as they are their genetics, and you could not reproduce the lifetime that made them the pal you loved and cherished. The lessons from life and death: one shot, make it count, pay attention.
I've had pets all my life. Each has been unique and special, some more than others. My last cat and I were a unit. He's irreplaceable and I know it. I am really glad to have known him and shared so much fun with him for so long, and I'll never forget him or stop missing him. But there are other cats out there that need a home, and I'm working up to heading over to SAFE and adopting one of them. Whoever it is, they will also be a unique individual with whom I will have unique relationship. Maybe as long and happy, maybe not. Each of us will bring what we bring to the relationship, as in all relationships.
Cherish what you had. Embrace what's coming. You'll be okay, I promise.

I think you may be feeling this way because your heart is striving to find a way to bring back your feline friend, and your mind at the same time is scrambling to do the same.
There are people who would gladly take advantage of your time of need and try to convince you that this is possible. You should never trust any like this who might approach you, I mean you and your cat had whatever personal bond you experienced, it's your call whether you feel you can reestablish that link.
Religions exist that believe in reincarnation but I think it's too possible that you might, in your heartbreak, see the first being with similar characteristics as your cat and embrace it, whether or not it actually contains your cat's "soul" if there is such a thing.

Seriously, awwwwwwwww! That's just lovely :-)
Well, now, I'm muslim and as far as I know, dead people/animals don't come back "alive". Unless it's some miracle (it happened once with my mother's relative, he came back alive FROM his tomb, scary isn't it? i was freaked out when my mom told me about that). But in Hinduism yeah they say you take birth 7 times, but I don't believe it because you only get to live once and do good stuff to get to go in heaven. Trust me, this life isn't forever, the after life is immortal and much more beautiful (that's IF you've been good when you were alive), now when I say "alive" it's when your soul lives in your body, our body is just a vehicle, it's our soul that really really counts you see? So don't worry, wherever your cat's soul may be right now, I'm sure it's happy and not alone, just pray for your cat to rest in peace, you'll definitely meet your cat someday (in heaven). Why don't you buy another cat? That should make you feel so much better. And stop crying, you're only gonna hurt your cat's soul, I'm sure he wouldn't want to see you in that state, would he? You're not crazy..I understand how you feel and it's normal, I have a teddy I've had for like 13 years and I feel like it's real, like it's talking to me or listening to me, lol, weird I know, (I'm 18 and I still think that way!) So no you're not crazy it's just that you loved your cat a lot, death can never separate you two, you're still together..like I said the only difference is that the cat's soul left its body and the body does not count. DON'T seek a psychiatrist though, they only give you anti despressant doses and idiotic stuff, it won't help you, you need to help yourself! You're NOT mental, you're just going through a tragedy and you'll be fine, you'll understand that this life isn't forever...our souls are immortal after all.
Do buy another cat okay? I wish you the best :-)

Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikism and Jainism all believe in some form of reincarnation. Buddhists believe that a being is reborn over and over, but only as energy, not as a personality or "soul". In fact, Buddhists do not believe in a core or unchanging identity that is eternal. I think their beliefs would be best charecterised by saying that "we are peices of the universe, breaking itself apart to find out about itself".
Hindus believe in a more literal definition of reincarnation with an immortal soul born into a different body after physical death.
Also, some Muslim Sufis believe in reincarnation.
Sorry that you are hurting. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry, but he's not going to come back reincarnated. I just lost my 15-year old cat Monday, so I'm also grieving. I think another animal will come along that will become your friend, but it won't be the same. One of the worst things people can do is try to completely replace a lost pet, they are all different and unique, no other one will be exactly like him. When and if you get another pet, love it for its own unique personality. I believe that there is a place for our beloved pets to wait for us:
Rainbow Bridge:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

It doesn't matter if there is an afterlife or not.
Either way, once something passes, its not coming, back no matter what you think.
Yea you may be hurting, but you need to let go. if you don't it will desrtoy you in the long run.
It will interfere, with your life at some point. As it is starting to do. You best let go ,before it gets to late.
Sure something or someone wil come along and fil the empty space ,you have now.
But it will never be the same as before. No matter how hard you try to make it, the way it was.

My religion does not believe in reincarnation, but I know how it feels to lose a special pet. My dog that I had for 10 years passed away three years ago. If your cat's mother is pregnant, maybe you can get one of the kittens, not as a replacement, but as a companion to help heal the pain you're going through. I think that whenever we lose a loved one, whether human or not, we want to bring them back somehow. You need to grieve, and I think in a few weeks you'll feel better. Good luck.

No, honey, you're not a nutbag. You're grieving. Believe me, I know how you're feeling.
I'm a Pagan who believes in reincarnation (some of us don't) and I know I've had pets return in another form a couple of times. They don't look like they did in their former lives. I have one right now.
You'll heal. I know it seems impossible now, but you will. There are so many cats out there who desperately need a home - go get one and give it the care it deserves. Don't wait for yours to come back. If he's going to, he will, in his own good time.
Bless your heart, and good luck.

My thoughts are that you are trying hard to find a belief system that supports what you want to believe rather than trying to discover the truth.
Why not be thankful for the joy your cat gave you, grieve, and get a new cat. This cat might not be the same, yet you will learn to love it just as much.
It is much more healthy to move forward than to hang on looking back over your shoulder.
Blessings.

There was an article in the local newspaper about a lady who often sees Charly , (her dog she had for 15 years,) at the back door. Charly was a stray that just showed up one day at that door and soon became a part of the family. She had Charly put to sleep so she knows he is gone, but she still sees him. I believe her... because the mind can be more powerful and controlling than people realize. I don't think you are mental at all, but something phenomenal can happen in life.
