The best thing to do is basically train them. Have you and your dad put each one on a leash. Make sure you have treats ready to reward them and a spray bottle or something when they get naughty. (If they do, give them a little squirt) Put them together holding each one on a leash. If they're nice to eachother, give them a treat. If they're bad, give them a squirt. Keep doing this until they learn to cooperate!

Hope this helped and GOOD LUCK!

A little more time is all that is needed and the problem will resolve itself. A little jealously there it seems. Caused by you and your dad. She was there first, right? Right now she doesn't want her attention given to another(aint that just like a girl?)She wants to be the number 1 dog and she should be. The other can adapt and will. Dogs still live with the pack mentality. They all eventually will learn their position in the pack, trust me. Right now, you and your dad probably have them confused because you want to give them "equal" attention, right?. Don't take the No l dog from the No 1 position by doing that. Treat them fairly yes, but not equal. Especially when it comes to one or the other with your attention. The No 2 dog will not have his feeling hurt. He will adjust just like he would if he were in a pack.

It's no different than when a baby comes into a home and the already there kid gets upset, your girl dog is the alpha female and she clearly wants to keep it that way......this seems like time will help it all work.....unless you got the female from a shelter, they tend to be much more demanding and i am not dissing them, I love my shelter pets but they just are much less tolerant to other animals and understandably so.
Once she knows she is still the dominant dog she should be okay, beg him if you have to for more time, find some written info to support your case, you need to approach this in a grown up way.....present your "case" just like an attorney would....good luck......I love great danes....the gentle giants.

It sounds as if you have two dogs with dominant personalities which doesn't make for a happy or healthy atmosphere. If they are not spayed and neutered,I would suggest having that done before rehoming either dog.

You should get rid of both of them. It's cruel to put any dog in the back yard in a cage, let alone two!! They need more attention than that! Think of what is best for them, not yourself!

Are they fighting or playing? Sometimes they fight and sound like they are playing but if you think they are fighting they should be in seperate kennels. or you should get rid of the one gettting beat on.

Have they been neutered and spayed? If not, that might help.
