Let's assume that a single, true god created all things in the universe, and, as many scriptural texts in our world indicate, this god is a loving god which cares for its people and wants to provide for them.

Does it make sense for this god to bar from salvation those things which it has created and claims to love? Shouldn't it matter more that the person is a member of the human collective and an active participant in the universe, and is therefore loved by this god?

If I told you I had a $1000 bill and that I would give it to you if you only believed that I had it and you said, "I don't believe in $1000 bills." And then I pulled it out and showed it to you, should I still give it to you?
