There is nothing wrong with dating her as long as you respect her, and her age... catch my drift?
Don't listen to negativity if you really have strong feelings for her... there are not many people that will answer this questions that didn't have a bf when they were 14... or that didn't date a girl that was slightly younger.... just be respectful, and you never know how far your relationship will go. Good luck. =)

I don't see why your parents think that's so wrong. They might be concerned about potential differences in goals or maturity levels, but if you love her then go with it. Just make sure it's love and not lust.
By the way, I have yet to meet a 17 year old male that is a man, nor a 14 year old female that is a woman. They've all been boys and girls.

There isn't too much difference between 25 and 28 but there is a big difference between 14 and 17 just like there is a difference between 1 and 4, and I think you know that or you wouldn't be asking this question. I know you think you are in love but next year you will be 18 and trying to decide what to do with the rest of your life and she won't even be able to drive. PLEASE do her and yourself a favor and walk away from this, before someone gets hurt.
Also some answers have said that age doesn't mean anything and you should go with your heart or some crap like that, its is BS. She should be passing notes in gym class and worrying about who will win American Idol, and you should be looking at college or something important besides a crush on a little girl.

Being 17 does not make you a man and being 14 does not make you a woman. But, to answer you're question, it's odd since guys wouldn't stoop low enough to date someone that young, but my boyfriend is 19 and I'm 17, which is a two year difference, so three years isn't all that big of a difference.

Sweetheart, thats a really big difference. It would be different if you were 23 and she was 20...but 14 if very young and immature to be dating a 17 year old. Just think about it. If you really care about her - then be her friend. Both of you need to grow a little - if you still care about eachother so much a few years down the road, go for it.

no offense but a 17 year old is not a man... and a 14 year old much less... but no it's okay to love someone younger than you... see when it comes to love age doesn't matter.... as a matter of fact when your parents tell you that again ask them this: "Why can a 21 year old date a 18 year old and not me? Or why can a 45 year old date a 40 year old?" it all makes sense... love doesn't know age or boundaries!

first off, she is not a woman she is a little girl. Date someone your own age. If you tried to date my daughter when she was 14 and you 17 as a father i would kill you. think about what her father wants to do to you. wise up or you will be sitting in jail soon saying why? did i date a 14 year old

You are BOTH very young...a 17 year old is not a man...and 14 year old is not a woman...you're teenagers...
With that said... do what you want...there are no laws that say you can't be together...follow your heart ...
If I were you though I'd date someone a little older like 20! older women know what's up!

You should find someone your own age. At 14, she is still a girl and shouldn't be dating period.

Imagine this: A year from now you will be a legal adult, but she wont. If there is anything sexual, whether it's sex itself, or anything remotely related to intimacy, then that will make you a pedophile. Do you want that? Suppose there's nothing sexual at all, how will that look with you being her b/f?... Still like a pedophile... and you can still get into alot of trouble.
