Faith is trust in God, not a feeling... more like "knowing" something is true.

Faith is what you must have, until you're given the opportunity to know Him. Even then, you have to have faith everyday He is right beside you, guiding you no matter what. It's not a faith about Him being there (because I know that part), but faith that He won't leave you right when you need Him the most. (lol, guess I know that part too now that I've thought about it a little bit) :)

Hebrews 11:1 tells us what faith is. But when it comes to prayer, if we pray for something, we will act in harmony with our prayers. If we pray to lose weight, we wouldn't then go out and eat a gallon of ice cream. We have to show God that we are sincere even though he can read our hearts.

Humanism[1] is a broad category of ethical philosophies that affirm the dignity and worth of all people, based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appeal to universal human qualities—particularly rationalism. Humanism is a component of a variety of more specific philosophical systems, and is incorporated into several religious schools of thought. Humanism entails a commitment to the search for truth and morality through human means in support of human interests. In focusing on the capacity for self-determination, humanism rejects the validity of transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on faith, the supernatural, or divinely revealed texts. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of human nature, suggesting that solutions to human social and cultural problems cannot be parochial.

Faith is trusting in something that does not appear. It's a hope in something that has not yet appeared. When you pray it's because you already have trust and hope, and these elements of faith grow with patience and fulfillment.

faith is knowing that God hears all of my prayers and answers them. Even when He does not do what I want done, I will praise Him since He is God.

HUH???
Faith in a loving God produces results from prayer. Perhaps it is our own mind...so what?...as long as a result happens.

Faith is blind belief. It's really ridiculous, if you ask me.
