Depends on the age of the girl, but I'm guessing she's a teen. Teens don't seem to understand that whatever their plagued with is short term. If it's that a guy doesn't like her, ask her if she would rather 'be with a guy that wants to be with her or with a guy that is clearly not smart enough to realize what's in front of him.' If it's friends, let her know that friends at that age can be caddy and that there is always Karma. Anything else, tell her that she's lucky to have what she has. There are kids in the world that have it much worse. In-keeping with popular culture and with regard to her problems, show her the videos "Runaway Love," (Ludacris) and "Diamonds," (Kanye West). Both are on Yahoo music. They show people that have it worse off. Other than that, "what you don't want to cry about, laugh about," (I just made that up-yeah for me). Why be sad and pessemistic anyway, the last thing we need in the world is another teen that thinks gothic means black nail polish and piercings.

Whenever my ex was pissed, I always would throw a random Mitch Hedberg or George Carlin joke in a real angry tone. We'd be fighting about something stupid and then I'd yell "Oh yeah!? Well if I were an animal I'd want to be friends with a beaver because they have kickass houses! Lakeside my ***! Lake-ON! That sh** is ON the lake!" and she'd laugh because she'd realize that I'd already deemed the fight too stupid to continue.
Also, whenever she'd be talking about how bad politics are, she'd say "What do you think?" and I'd say "I think that The Chiefs (my fav team) better pick up a cornerback in the draft or we're going to be too vulnerable to the pass offense." or something equally off-topic and she'd laugh because she's realize she was ranting over nothing.
Give it a shot. It may surprise you.

You show her all of the good things in life including yourself and you make a lot of good jokes along the way. If she sees that you are an amazing person she will forget about everything else. I know from experience because I am that girl and when I met the most amazing guy in the world I didn't care about the sorrows of life.

depending on why she is angry. but you can always joke with her. talk toher about destroying the world just the two of you. or something like that. but make sure it doesnt happen. good luck and happy life.

Take her to places where she can laugh and laugh and find it all funny, but be careful she doesnt dump you in anger!!!

Is she ticklish? If so, find her spot and tickle her. Or you can just wait at that precise right moment and throw a bucket of warm water on her @ss and just her @ss, then ask her...."Excuse me (whatever her name is) but did you just pee on yourself?"

Be consistent, in your joking ways. She is expecting you to leave her alone.
Be persistent. (Not stalker like) but be there for her to open up. Be positive.
