Just so I understand clearly, you have redness under your tongue and it burns?

I just had this last week and I went to see and Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. I had an infection of my submandibular salivary gland. (It is the gland under your tongue that makes spit.) The infection was oozing out of the duct where spit normally comes out.

First of all you need antibiotics!

Second, hold a heating pad under your chin for 20 minutes out of every two hours.

Third, suck on hard candy (preferable something sour or tart) this makes you salivate, thus pushing the infection on out.

Mine spread to my throat and ear before we realized what was really wrong with me.

Go see your doctor, but in the mean time try the methods listed above to relieve the pain.

it could be thrush, try putting some plain yogurt in your mouth for 15 minutes each hour and see if that takes care of it, if not you will likely need a doctor's care.
