You need to go to you eye doctor, and have you eyes tested unfortuneatly. You need the prescription form the doctor. I always keep my prescription for my glasses all the time.

Yes, you need a prescription and cannot get right lenses for you without it. The lens required has to be adjusted to your sight problem, meaning if it is astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and the amount of the problem. In that case it is better to wear nothing than a poorly fitted pair of lenses.

contacts require prescription, and if yours is over two years old, you need to have your eyes checked anyway. Suggest you seek out a free clinic in your area. But if you can afford to buy contacts, you can afford to see a doctor. Cheap skate.

Yes, and it's going to be a contact lens exam/fitting which will cost more than just an eyeglass exam.

Contact your insurance provider, if you have one, to see if they cover contact lens fittings.

It's usually about $80 for just an exam; about $140 for a contact lens exam/fitting.

Good luck.
