That's easy.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Doesn't anyone read the Bible anymore?

Ooops, you asked your question of Christians. Oh well, here's my 2 cents worth!
Each of us creates our own evil by the choices we make throughout our lives. We choose evil when we do nothing to stop the atrocities occurring both in our own neighborhoods and in genocides in other nations. We must work together as a community to stop evil, including the genocide occurring this moment in Darfur, Sudan.

Evil seems to have come about when the angel Lucifer decided to go against God. After that ...... well, you get the serpent, the Devil, Satan, etc., etc., etc.
It seems to have actually come from "free choice" practiced by Lucifer when he decided to rise up against God and try and take over.
Then there was the choice that Eve made when she took the forbidden fruit from the serpent, she offered it to Adam and he chose to eat it.
All personal, self centered choices. That's where evil seems to come from.
Also ..... not following God's will, his teaching, his commands. That's gotten Israel into trouble for thousands of years, Christians too.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
The bible clearly says evil comes from God!
HUMM God created evil and in order for God to create evil that means God has to be evil! After all he couldn't create something to which he doesn't have within him!

Evil comes from within; from our lack of faith come negative thinking therefore fear and negative actions. It teaches us to overcome our adversities(enemies). The lesson with Evil, I believe, is to replace fear with faith(higher thinking) and Believe in the One Above no matter what.

I'm not a Christian but I can answer from the Bible:
Isaiah 45:7 (KJV) -
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. -Matthew 12:35.
Your heart.
Either you choose to do good or evil.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: We are the evil; we were born sinners and by that we are wicked. It's only the grace of God that he still loves us and chooses to offer us Salvation.

Evil comes from the absence of God. Like darkness comes from the absence of light and cold from the absence of heat.
