Look at your registration certificate (V5c).
It will state the official CO2 emissions for your car if it was first registered on or after 1st March 2001.
You can then use the tables at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524 to look up which band your car is in.
Note that the new higher rated Band G only applies to cars first registered on or after 23rd March 2006.

Go to link 1 and choose your manufacturere and then model. Once there go to Technical data which will tell you tax band. Go to link 2 for info on Tax costs.
