My b/f and I are planning to be married. We've discussed our future, plans, etc. He even said "you know I'm going to marry you." However, he hasnt actually ASKED. We wont be able to get married for a couple of years, so its not something that i'd expect him to do now. But do u think he'll ask or does he just assume that he already did?

I'm in the same situation as you are.

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and have always planned on getting married.

We are ALSO going to wait a couple years or so... after we graduate college and get good jobs.

Your guy may be one of the reasonable people who wait till it gets closer to the day you will actually get married to get engaged. I mean, why start planning a wedding that's going to be years from now?

And you also have to be realistic. ANYTHING can happen in a couple years.

It's good to start talking about the future and it's good to know that you two are on the same page. He will officially ask you someday. Just wait. Don't pressure it. He wants it to be perfect, I'm sure.

My boyfriend has already asked me to marry him several times. But we're not OFFICIALLY engaged. And honestly, I don't even care about a damn ring. lol. But I guess you can say we are pre-engaged. Sounds like you are too!

He'll ask you when he feels the time is right. My now fiance and I talked about getting married all the time. We knew we would and we even planned that we would have a small wedding and where exactly we were going to go for our honeymoon, etc. However, at this time, he had not yet popped the question. He ended up asking me on our two year dating anniversary. Thus, your guy does not assume he already asked you.
He wants to make it as memorable as possible; therefore, he is waiting for the perfect day, etc. Just have faith! Well, I hope this helps. Oh, and when he does ask you- Congratulations!

I am also in the same situation as you, I have been together with my boyfriend for 4 years though. We have talked about marriage, but we want to wait until we graduate college and are able to afford everything.
He'll give you a ring, but it probably won't be soon, give it time and he will ask.
(Hey, atleast you are in a better situation than most! Lots of boyfriends won't even CONSIDER much less TALK about the idea of marriage! So technically, you're half way there!)

My now husband also knew we were going to get married, so 1 month after we started dating he asked me to go ring shopping with me and 3 months later he proposed. I was engaged for 2 years, until we had saved up the money for our dream wedding. If your man really wants to marry you, he shouldn't be hesitating to get a ring on your finger - before some other guy does.

Depends on your ages; if you are both done post-secondary education and have started your careers.
Oh, girl, you will know when he has asked. He will have a ring and the two of you will quickly set a date. Just don't live together, or there is little hope of him asking.

yes i do think he will ask. If your not shy about asking him if he thinks that he has aked already then ask but if you are then wait i promise he will ask because if he has said that "you know im going to marry you" then he will. wait and time will tell you. :)

First of all you say that your b/f and you are planning to be married. Then you say he hasn't acually ASKED. What is the planning then?...Why don't you ask him directly?
