It's probably natural in a relationship to have some manipulation that later is transformed into negotiation, compromise. Sometimes that doesn't happen, my question is from the point of view that the woman has, when the guy doesn't do everything she wants, and she doesn't see her selfish reactions, I wonder if woman for a long term relationship, likes more a man that they can manipulate (in my oppinion, if she can, the rest of the world can) or they prefer someone with a back bone that likes to negotiate and compromise?. Manipulative man, or with a backbone?. I still lost my relationship anyway, for stand for what I thought was right. Any ideas of why they try to manipulate?, comments about a situation where that has happened?, have you ever been there?

In most parts, a "manipulative" woman may just be testing the waters; i.e., just trying to see how far she can control her man. In the end, she's more gratified if her man turns up to be someone who knows when to bend down (giving in to her whims) and when to stand up (showing his backbone). Admittedly, there's a little of this "manipulative domineering being" in most women. We assure you, however, that we are just being playful. While we do want to be dominated, we are by no means, wanting to be dominant. All in general terms, of course.

I'm so sorry your relationship with someone didn't transform into negotiation/compromise level. Just maybe the "getting to know you" phase wasn't quite completed yet when the mind games began. Parties involved have got to be on the same page (or in close proximity) for any relationship to grow and blossom.

I hope you'll be happier with the next one.

Run away from women like this. Good for you that you stood up for what you felt or thought was right. No person should try to manipulate and control another. If you care for someone, you want for them what they want for themselves. You don't try to change them and manipulate what they do and think.

These women try to manipulate because they fear losing you if they can't control every minute of your life and every thought you have in your life. They can't stand that you are an independent human being with thoughts and desires of you own. They don't realize that they create the very thing they fear. If they didn't manipulate, you would still be there.

speaking from experience you need a balance relationship. I had a boyfriend once who did fall all over me and do everything I wanted and I landed up dumping him because I felt he had no backbone, there was love, and I stayed on good terms with him. You need to be honest though and talk about it. Also doing some nice things is good it shows you care, but she should do some nice things for you too. I thing you did the right thing. If she would have been worth keeping she wouldn't have been such a princess. Life is hard, you have to keep looking for the girl for you.

Me myself I don't like a man easily manipulated. My husband is a big old pushover when it comes to women and his ex wife used that to her advantage faking suicide attempts, threatening to harm his daughter, anything manipulative and deceitful to keep him with her.I think its wrong to take advantage of a man's willingness to do anything for his girl. So yes me as a woman I love to have my way but if you give me my way often and then decide to put your foot down I'll still respect you. I can't deal with a yes man though there has to be boundaries in a relationship.

I've been there and don't stand for that crap either.

Most likely the manipulative ones are not looking for long term regardless of what kind of guy she's with. Girls like stupid guys who are easily manipulated, just one of those attractive characteristics I guess.

Less chance of being hurt by a guy you control, maybe?

Probably insecure.

I try not to dirty myself with such people.

Anyway, I congratulate you for standing up for yourself.

Well I guess it's human nature to see what you can get away with. Men get away with all kinds of cr@@p that guys dish up and women get away with all kinds of cr@@p that they dish up. The desire to go-along-to-get-along is stronger or weaker in some people. Some guys need that patch of hair so bad they'll sit naked on a block of ice and balance a ball on their nose while serving tea to their keeper. If you are more resistant to the kryptonite - congratulations!

She wasn't willing to compromise because she didn't love you . Simple. She might have liked being with you , but her tantrums and getting her way are more appealing to her right now.
