I only eat once a day because im never that really hungry I guess I have a small appetite but when I do I eat a big healthy meal and little snacks in between like yogurt or a fruit and I drink 8 cups of water a day is that healthy? If not what can I do to be more healthy?

That is not healthy at all, and actually your body will start storing everything that you do feed it as fat for energy. Eat 6 small healthy meals a day, get 30 minutes of cardio 4-6 days a week, 30 minutes of weight training 2-3 days a week, drink plenty of water, take vitamins, get plenty of rest at night, no carbs past 4:00 pm, and try not to eat after 7:00 pm. It is that simple. Its not a diet, it is having a healthy lifestyle.

I wish I knew if you were trying to lose weight here or just trying to get a balanced diet. Either way whats going on is probably not the best for you.

Its proven that eating 4-5 small meals a day is better than our societies norms of 3 meals. We all know that sugar turns to fat and we should eat small quantities. When you go a long period of time with out eating your blood sugar level drops. The next time you eat it will spike very high causing all that sugar to convert right to fat. Your small snacks sound about right. Just maybe consider eating fiber and protien in there some how. The water thing is great, make sure you get a few glasses of skim milk if you can.

Funny.....that's exactly what I do/how I feel (I really only eat lunch b/c I'm just not hungry in the morning or at night...even though I make myself eat a banana for breakfast & have some almonds in the afternoon for a snack). If it's not healthy, maybe that's why I'm not loosing anything. (I figuer that I don't want to force myself to eat when I'm not hungry b/c thenI will just be taking in extra calories that I do not want) I also do about an hour of exercise daily. Sounds like we have the same metabolism.

No that is very unhealthy. You have to eat at least 1200 calories a day. First you wont have enough energy for your exercises and daily activity - you might feel ok now but it will catch up with you and you will crash. Second if you dont fuel your body with the minimal amount of cals it will think that it is starving, you will eventually stop losing weight because every thing that is consumed will be stored as fat. After some time your body will start breaking down the muscle in your body for energy because it is easier and it is reserving the fat.

Sounds okay to me, your "big" meal should probably be the lunchtime one... NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST. Breakfast gets your metabolism going for the day, you could have your yogurt & fruit then and small snacks throughout the day like skim cheeses and raw nuts are good. 8 cups a water a day is okay if you aren't exercising but remember for every 5 minutes of strenuous exercise you get you should add another cup (8 oz) of water.

A small appetite is quite natural - I know a woman who truly forgets to eat. But it is important for your blood sugar levels to graze as much as your appetite will allow. If you replace the yogurt & fruit with some cheese and whole grain crackers once in awhile you will be fine. If you do your workouts on an empty stomach, that's fine too but have a banana or protein smoothie afterwards.

Its good that you are exercising in the morning and before you go to bed, but just eating one good meal a day is not good. You will not lose weigh in a good way if you keep it up. Doesn't matter if you snacks in between you have to give your body the proper nutrition it needs. Try eating 3 times a day with snacks in between.

No, it is NOT healthy to eat once a day. It slows down your metabalism and believe it or not it causes you to gain weight. I have struggled with this for years. I do not suggest eating once a day to anyone . You are supposed to eat several small meals a day through out the day.

plus You have to get all of the needed minerals and vitamins per day

Good luck

If you're getting all your nutrients in in that one meal, and your snacks don't leave you hungry, then great. Google your DRI's for all your essential nutrients to make sure that you're getting enough in your meal and snacks.

first you start eating right you eat fruit like oranges, bananas, strawberrys and other fruits. It is okay to eat some food only if you don't over do it . It is going to be okay.
