This year my state income tax was taken by the state for non payment of parking tickets. So is that it or is there interest on the balance?

If they went to collection, there will be interest. Why not call the city and find out just how many tickets you have, if they are garnishing your income tax, my guess is that there are many.

yes and you must have owed alot for a long time for them to snatch your state taxes like that. you can bet there is interest. and the price goes up after so many days, weeks, months and years of non payment. im surprised you still have a license if that.
