As a credit counselor, I cannot sit here and recommend that you vist ANY payday loan places. The interest they charge is astronomical. I've known many people who went there to borrow just a few hundred dollars and wound up owing a few THOUSAND from one loan. This happened because of fees, interest, the loan company bounced the check they were holding, etc.
May I suggest these things instead:
- Try to borrow money from a friend or relative and put a repayment agreement in writing.
- Apply for a line of credit with a bank or credit union. They may be willing to loan you a small amount of cash. When they look at your report and see medical bills, they might be more lenient. Financial institutions frown upon people who are irresponsible with their credit as opposed to those who were caught off guard with illinesses.
- If you have a credit card, get a cash advance. The APR for borrowing that money may be around 16% for such a transaction, compared to an APR of 400% from a payday loan place. (Yikes!)
-The last piece of advice I can give is don't borrow money online. You mentioned websites and I cannot warn against this enough. Make sure that you are borrowing your money from an institution where you can actually see a human being. If something goes wrong or you need to make other arrangements, you will want to have contact witha real person and not call an 800 number and talk to someone different every time - or worse! - send emails to resolve a major issue. It's not worth it.
I hope that helps and I hope things work out for you. Good luck!

NO. "Payday" loans are all LOAN SHARKS! You DO NOT "need" a loan, you "need" MONEY. That is a BIG difference. Pick up a second job for the short term or sell something to get the extra money you need. You can start delivering pizzas just by walking into most pizza joints & you will get some cash (tips) to bring home every night. I'm not suggesting that pizza delivery be a permanent part of your life, but it could help you get over this bump in the road. Also, you desperately need to go to your local library or bookstore & get a copy of the book below. It sounds very much like you have been letting life kick you (& your finances) around WAY too much. You have got to get control or you will spend your whole life in the HOLE.

Please note that the way those things work is that if you don't pay them off when the loan is due (usually the date of your next pay day), they will "extend it" but deduct a hefty fee from your checking account. Since money is (obviously) tight for people who take out these loans, these companies count on the fact that you won't likely be able to pay all of the loan back when it is due.
For example a friend of mine did this, borrowed $300, "extended" the loan for a few months (because the $300 was spent and he couldn't afford to pay it back the next pay day) and ended up having to pay the company back over $700 for the privilege of borrowing their $300 for a few months.
You would be better off with a "bad credit" credit card or even a pawnshop. If you must take the pay day loan, you should make sure that you are able to pay it in full when you get your next paycheck, otherwise it will just make your whole situation worse.
