Can eating a lot of fiber help you loose more weight?

I found some breakfast bars that are fiber bars and thought about eating them for breakfast and lunch.So I didnt know if it would help me to loose weight if I did this!

It can help, it expands in your stomach giving you a feeling of being full faster and longer than other foods and it's naturally found in low calorie foods.

But before you go taking fiber supplements, you can get too much fiber. It can cause a nutrient deficiency and sometimes block the absorption of calcium. You shouldn't reach your upper limit of fiber from foods though. Usually a fiber toxicity is found from those taking supplements.

Edit - I meant to tell you where it's naturally found. Whole grains (whole wheat bread, oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat pasta), dark green veggies, and the skins of most fruits (apples, the white part of an orange...a potato isn't a fruit but the skin of a potato). These are all high-fiber, low cal foods that will definitely aid in weight loss.

you only need so much fiber in your diet. to much of any vitamin or fiber etc, can make you ill. if you wish to loose weight try to eat healthy and have 3 small meals a day. diets never work , because as soon as you start to eat normally again the weight goes back on.

Yes. The fiber makes you feel full. Also, most foods that are high in fiber are already low in calories like fruits and vegetables.

yes, it CAN - if a lack of fiber contributes to irregularity for you. It all just depends really!

Fiber is generally a good recommendation for most people!

Yes it can! as well as help keep you regular.

The fiber will make you feel fuller and your food will digest slower, that will make you fuller longer!

Its no miracle thing though.
