About God and Homosexuals?

I'll start off by letting you all know that I am an Atheist.

I always hear people talking about how the bible shuns homosexuality and how homosexuals will be sent to hell etc etc.

Is it not possible for God to change his mind about homosexuals? You would think after watching humans change and adapt that he would change and adapt as well.

(I don't believe in god but I just think the way some people blindly follow the bible without questioning it whatsoever is a tad strange)

If God created homosexuals just to damn them to hell... how is he better than anyone else?

You're going to get handed a load of guff about how God doesn't change from a whole bunch of people who - obviously - have never met God.

If God exists at all, being a God I would say he has the ability to change, adapt, re-invent himself and re-write the rule book just as often as he damn-well pleases.

What doesn't change is the Bible. No-one knows whether God can change and no-one here on earth is in any way qualified to speak on his behalf. In fact "taking the Lord's name in vain" is a bit of a no-no, not that any of the religionists take much notice of that... they're all too busy worshipping a book rather than the author.

First of all God doesn't change and will not change for mere humans. He is already perfect in all His ways and perfection cannot be altered.

Second of all, God extends forgiveness for homosexuals just as much as He extends forgiveness to anyone who will confess their sin and repent of it.

Third, people aren't blindly following the Bible. Personally, I had little interest in the Bible before God changed my life. I would run away from people on the street who were passing out religious literature. After my eyes were open to my sin and I repented and was cleansed of it through the blood shed for me by Jesus Christ, I took a keen interest in what the Bible
had to say, and after 33+ years of studying it, and praying to the God of the Bible and seeing many, many answered prayers I would be an absolute fool to turn away from it.

Finally, God is more than ready to reveal Himself to you when you are ready to objectively check Him out. You should pray that He would show you whether or not He is real, but before you do you might want to make sure you want the answer. It will not verify your belief in Atheism when He reveals Himself to you. You will have to be ready for a change if you pray.
God loves a sincere heart and longs to reveal Himself to any who want to know Him.

You have to be right about God changing his mind, or something like that. After all, modern Christians, even the most fundamentalist, have to admit that God no longer punishes for eating pork, being around women when they're menstruating, and DOES punish for owning slaves, etc. So why not sexuality? You heard it here first: within 25 years, the vast majority of Christians will accept that God has no problem with homosexuality.

I don't believe in the Old Testament junk, in fact, I don't believe a lot of what is in the modern bible. God doesn't hate anything but evil people who hurt, maim, rape and kill without mercy. God doesn't hate homosexuals. The Greeks believed that homosexual love was that closest akin the love of the Gods. Homosexuals are blessed with an alternative perspective of life that most heterosexuals cannot understand and while the stereotype may be there, a lot of gay people are more creative and artistically inclined for a reason, it is what of their gift from God. God doesn't make mistakes, all creations exist for a reason and to serve a purpose, why did he make our skin different colors? It's to test the depths of our tolerance and our ignorance, to see who will overcome their prejudices and who will give in to them. I think the true sinners are those who persecute others for being different, the people who hold the GOD HATES FAGS signs at funerals are the ones who have a cozy place waiting for them in hell. The devil will be smiling for them because they have forgotten the most important verse in the bible: God is love.

The OT is where the 'kill the homosexuals' rhetoric comes from.
What most of the Chrisitians fail to realize is that Jesus threw out the old covenants and replaced them with his tree-hugging Liberal way of thinking.
That is why Republicans are evil and against Jesus and all Chrisitans.
Vote Democrat so a new brand of evil doers can sell your soul to the lowest bidder.
Or, vote Liberatian to make the Lobbyists spend more money.

Some do follow the Bible blindly and stubbornly, except for the turn the other cheek part. Some 'religious' people have no room for tolerance of people with cultural differences or personal preferences. Love one another, to some, means love the Christians, change the rest.

I don't think that God's opinion of Homosexuality has changed but I think Christians misrepresent the one they claim to follow.

God hates sin. Homosexuality is a sin. Therefore, God hates homosexuality. That is all correct.

The problem comes in when Christians read that to mean that God hates HOMOSEXUALS. That is not the case. Christ told us to "hate the sin, love the sinner." We all sin but God loves us anyway. He sent His son, Jesus, to be our sacrifice so that we could go to Heaven.

i dont understand why homosexuality is a big deal to christians. its just classified under lust. period it is no worse a sin than murdering someone.

which in gods eyes all sins are equal.

Then why should it matter to you? Why should you care about, why God says or does.
If it is not in your interest. then it would be a waste of time. One can not explain something to someone, who does not acknowledge, ones belief.
And why their belief should matter. If you don't believe in God, then why should you care.
You have nothing to worry about.
If you are gay, does it really matter to you all that much? You must of had a reason for asking.
Did you, or do you feel a change of heart, is need, on your part?
Are you feeling guilty about something, you are not sharing?
Why would an atheist, care about a God, they have no belief in?
And why would they care what the punishment is? For being an atheist, does your soul bother you, that much?
If your worried about going to hell.
Why should you? If you have no belief in God, then ,hell does not exist, remember?
One can not believe in something, if it has to do with nothing.
You people, believe God don't exist, True? So in your mind, if God don't exist, then neither does HELL! So what your purpose for asking then?
You atheist, are always getting down, on the christain belief, as wel las the christains, themself.
So why should they be obligated to answer your question?
When you would turn around, and say its not true. Or its just someones imagination.

So what do you want from them? Do you want them to say "I forgive you for not believeing in my God."

Their God is a loving God. But none of you atheist, will give their God a chance to show you.
Or will let them live in peace with their God.
Let them live in their beliefs if that what they chose to do. They aren't hurting you any. Why can't you just let them be? Why do you want to hurt them so?
So you keep bad mouthing ,their God. And then you have the nerve, to ask them what God thinks if this or that.
What do you people(ATHEIST) want from them?
Do you want them to admit ,to your your right, and they are wrong. Is that what you want?
Why does their belief bother you atheist so, that you must want to destroy their belief so much,

Because you want proof their God exist. And they can't prove. Except by what they believe.
Yet not one of you ATHEIST, have proven to them that their GOD does not exist.
Is it because their belief has a foundation, and it makes their belief strong.
Has you fiath or beliefe let you down?
Because it had not foundation, other then what you yourselfs believe to be true? Or it has no pupose, except to curse ones God or belief?
If your belief is so strong, then why can't you just leave the christains to their faith, and their belifs? And just go on with your own lives, and live them ,the way you want. And leave them alone to their own destiny
So what is it, you want from them? They have a right to believe in ,what they believe, OK? Just as you atheist, have a righrt not to believe.
If they believe the bible, so what! And why should you care.
You Atheist, don't believe in it. Or believe i n Their God, or their Gods existance.
Or have you forgotten? You get down ,on them because the bible, speaks of God killing innocent children or old men and women. Or desrtoying this or that.
When you have no idea for Gods reasoning.! Can anyone of you ATHEIST,! Explain Gods reason for what God does?
You don't know why God does whatGod does.
It is up to God, to do as God sees fit.
And if you don't like what God does, then why should it bother you?
If god wants to kill innocent children as you atheist so kindly put it.
Then It is Gods choice ,not yours!. If you can stand up to God , and say don't do this or that. Then by all means Take your best shot.
And tell God what to do. If you can't then let the christains beleive, what they chose to believe. And if they want to love God, then let them!

hell was created by christians - so shall they go there, to their hell!

christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group.

christians have persecuted millions of "non-believers" just because they DIDN'T believe in "christianity!

christians are by far the most brain-washed - brain-dead believers in the world today!

These people are the SAME as atheist!
