I think it is hard to say what the exact cause is. If your uncle is 85 he has already outlived most people, and with the right treatment he could live much longer. Right now helping him get the right treatment is much more important than trying to pin down an exacting cause. I would doubt that few ,if any, cancer researchers could actually tell you this in any exact way.

Good Luck to you and your Uncle. May you both live a long life.

You uncle-farmer-85-from village-no pollution-veggie-nonsmoker, could have gotten lung cancer from breathing second-hand smoke, or inhaling toxins from herbicides or pesticides.

I'm sorry for your loss!

Cancer sometimes is in the genes passed down from the family or it could be outside factors , like water, pesticides, food, you name it. The cause is really not important, its what to do after you have it. Check this site out for a possible answer www.rain-tree.com/graviola.htm

well, you have to realize that not all cancer comes from smoke. Some types of cancers, even those of the lungs come from defective genes, possible causes would be exhaust, toxins, defective cells, and many other reasons.

Did he use diesel fuel in his tractor? Those fumes are supposed to contain carsinogens. Was there pesticides that became airborne or was in the field dust? Some areas were crop dusted by airplanes before it was outlawed, in his lifetime.

I'm sorry to hear that. It might be genetic. Take this as a warning sign to get yourself screened regularly in your coming years.
