I would think it would be a fun way to break up the day. My son's best friend lives an hour away from us and his cousins (to whom he's very close) live 2 hours away. 20 minutes for us would be a treat!

It always bugs me when parents schedule their kid's b-day parties during the week. It makes me think they have little consideration for other parents. I'm a stay at home mom but I run a day care in my home, I can't close my center to go to a party. If you knew with 100% certainty that every child you invited to the party had a parent that was staying at home, then MAYBE I would think it was OK to schedule the party during a week day. If not, the only truly considerate thing to do is to pick a time when most people wouldn't have to take off work, or reschedule a doctor's appointment, or change their weekly plans to make time for a party. That IS what weekends are for, after all.

I wouldn't do it. I'm busy during the week and don't have time to carve out 3 or 4 hours in the evening for a birthday party for a preschooler. If it were the weekend, no big deal. But otherwise, no.

It sounds like a pain. People have plans on weekdays and maybe other kids to attend to.

If you have no other obligations then it is up to you if you want to go. It is different to have a birthday party during the week, but if it works for everyone's schedule then why not?

I would probably attend...maybe you can combine it with other errands. One positive thing is that your child is bound to sleep very well that night and you won't need to make dinner. Maybe you could even sneak out for half hour or so and do something for yourself.

If you could afford the gas, had the time...why not. IT would mean alot to the child and most of the time it's fun to watch the kids too.

That wouldn't happen with my kids. Especially the daughters. Because women and girls need a mahram to take them somewhere outside.
