I got the entire series of Anthrax shots. No problem.

Yes, lots of people get sore arms. If somebody cannot deal with this, they probably should not be in the military.

Having served my country for 26 years I can say that the anthrax vaccine is just as safe as all the others out there.

Just like all other vaccines there are people who have reactions to it. Due to the fact that 99 percent of the people who got this shot are military and in large groups all at once, the people who had reactions were concentrated in one area and became "newsworthy" overnight.

I read some controversy about it, but in this day and age a less than 1 percent "side effect"group is actually very good.

If you do your homework and see what the side effect group has been for other vaccines you will see that it is a much smaller than normal group.

Every year thousands of people have side effect from the flue shot out of the millions given. Yet I do not hear of people complaining about those vaccines.

So rest your mind and do not listen to the urban legend stuff that came from spinmasters to try and cause confusion.

I have had the anthrax shot and have not suffered any side effects.

Well, on second thought; maybe the anthrax shot is what causes me to smoke cigarettes and drink excessive amounts of coffee... (just kidding)

The anthrax serum the military receives has been in use by livestock vets for over 30 years with no problems. I received the entire series of anthrax shots during Desert Storm, as well as the smallpox inoculation during Iraqi Freedom. I can say from experience, the smallpox shot is much much worse than the anthrax (as far as discomfort and danger to others). Anthrax just stings a bit and then you're done. Maybe a bit of a rash, but no major side effects. Smallpox makes you feel like you've been beaten to the brink of death by a gang of Hell's Angels.

Don't worry about the anthrax shot. It is fine. My daughter was born after I had completed the series of shots and she's perfectly normal (stubborn, but normal). I have listed a link with information about the anthrax vaccine.

My husband had the anthrax shot before his first tour in Iraq (he got it about March 2003). I'm 8 months pregnant now and so far, so good.

I think the biggest concern they had with the anthrax shot was the chance that it had a hand in Gulf War Syndrome. There's no proof of that. The Army made the vaccine optional a couple of years ago, but they have done a lot of testing on it, and it is now mandatory again. I wouldn't worry too much about it; tons of people have had their anthrax shots with no side effects.

I got the Anthrax shot in 1990 before Desert Storm. I had 2 kids after-wards. No health problems I can link to the shot.

I hope he'll be O.K. I was Navy for 4 years in the 80's. He's probably safer from anthrax over there. The attack we had on the legislative branch the day before the patriot act was passed came from a U.S. lab.

My hubby had these shots for years while he was in... we have 2 beautiful, healthy, happy little gals together! No worries as far as your grandkids coming out with a 3rd arm or toes out of their forehead. He'll be fine. The site of the shot will swell enormously though. Hubby says it feels like a 10- ton bee stung you. YIKES!
