What are the most effective ways to give direction and have it downloaded into his brain?

Moaning and talking get it into his brain. Moan when he's doing something right and tell him where it's right. If it's other stuff fantasies, etc have a talk and frankly tell him.

For starters do not treat your man like a dog. You train animals, not men. Some people are more shy than others. Tell him what you want him to do. He might have to do it more than once to become comfortable with it. Communication is the best way for him to know what you like. Make him comfortable and it will all come around.

instead of using the word "train", think "encouragement". i believe that in the long run, you'd prefer to be with someone who is natural with you than be with someone who fits your "prototype" only on command.
